Great how to guide. Done mod over the weekend, looks much better with two headlights on and more importantly makes the bike a bit more visible.
Thanks FH

That's what I thought. But I didn't think it was built from 97-03 which is what their add suggests.

I've been looking at some levers on ebay, however when I contacted seller they said they didn't have any for my bike. (98 FZS) Even though their heading lists the levers as 98 FZS when you read the description it says they're for a 97-03 FZ6.

That's the same bike isn't it?

Cheers FH

Not really what I've done today, but bike was serviced and new muffler fitted by my local mechanic. I feel better knowing my bike gets the once over from a professional every now and again. :)

Washed and a wee bit of a polish, cleaned and adjusted chain and adjusted throttle cable.  :)

Yeah I thought that might be the case. Been doing a bit of reading about ceramic coating, there's a place near me that does it.

Or maybe just some heat resistant paint would be better. Although I tried paint on a car manifold once and it didn't last long.

Ok so I've ordered a Delkevic tri oval muffler 420mm. There only $290 which seems reasonable to me and I can get it here in Australia. Might be here by the end of the week. Should make things a wee bit louder! :)

Might look at getting my standard downpipes sand blasted and powder coated or something.

Thanks for the response guys, some good looking/sounding exhausts.

Glad to hear someone else has been told what I have about the downpipes darrsi. My downpipes are in pretty good nic so I'll keep those on. Interesting to note that the carbs will need balanced although they're probably due for that anyway.

FZS600 Fazer / Exhaust upgrades
« on: 24 October 2015, 07:53:16 am »
Thinking about whether or not to upgrade my exhaust system on my 98 Fazer to something that sounds a bit nicer. The standard exhaust is fine but its a bit too quiet and I'd rather cars etc could hear me a bit better.

My local mechanic has tried to talk me out of an upgrade saying that nothing is better suited to the bike than the standard system especially with regards to the downpipes.

Not really keen on doing any re-jetting or anything just looking for a straight bolt on swap. I have found someone in Australia who sells full Motad systems.

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems after fitting different exhausts with the way the bike runs?

Cheers FH
