Managed to scratch my visor with careless cleaning lots of small ones but when the suns out I get a starburst effect, ive never before bought a visor on its own, I buy a mid range helmet and replace it every 2/3 years usually because its a bit grubby and itchy on the inside......only bought the current one last year so need a new visor, bit surprised at  how much they are  ....think I would rather pay more and get a new helmet...unless of course you foccers know of a decent supplier at a decent price.....

In the same boat with my Shoei GT air. Its done 2 winters and has loads of little marks like yours. Sunlight aaaaaarghhh!

Shopped around but tends to be the same price everywhere £40 for the visor (pinlock ready) and the pinlock insert £25. Been putting it off for about 3 weeks now and hoping to find a site where they're cheap as chips.

You can buy some cream that takes out scratches, or some say toothpaste works. Bought my last (HJC) visor via eBay from Korea. Even with shipping, cheaper than UK

Toothpaste will probably work, but it will also likely remove any protective coatings on the exterior surface

Replaced my Shoei visor 2 years ago , cost about £ 40 , they used the pinlock from the old visor .

£40 seams  to be the norm, think I'll spend a bit more and get a new lid, if I get the same again and iam carefull with cleaning parhaps I can use it on the old lid to get a bit more life out of it then swap back to the new one 

got nothing to lose by trying toothpaste, I'll give it ago and report back......

Not saying toothpaste doesn't work...just always leaves swirl marks (shit loads) when I tried it years ago.

I'd try it on an old helmet/visor first or you might be buying a new lid sooner than expected. Just a heads up Red.

Yeh, was thinking the same FROSTIES, it is an abrasive cleaner after all, got to be to polish the scratches out...the swirl marks or parhaps misting will be more annoying than the starburst effect....thinking about it thats probs what caused it in the first place 

I used to keep a packet of wet wipes under the seat to clean visor mid ride out.but all I was doing was rubbing all the road dirt and grit into the visor causing the small scratches  ......I drop the visor into a bucket of warm soapy water now and then dry with an air line.......looks like a new helmet then...

Ever tried the V2 sponge. Carry one all the time and works a treat.

ive just bought some visors for my HJC lid, in the uk they are around £40 each.. ive got 2 genuine hjc iridium visors  for £35 from korea and they arrived quicker than when I used to order uk ones

just going to order  a new mechanisum and a clear visor now.

Depends on the overall cost of the helmet.  There is no treatment that will remove scratches enough without affecting transparency!! I replaced my box helmet visor after 2 years from race visors . Co . uk for about £20 pin lock ready......... Great visor n will hopefully give me another 2 years out the helmet then I don't mind spending £100 ish on a good fitting helmet

A very long time ago when I was in the navy we used brasso to sort out scratches on watches etc. I'll try it on an old visor and let you know.  If I can still see that is.
