EBC rear brake pads!
« on: 25 June 2015, 08:53:43 pm »
Hi, Has anyone had any problems with EBC rear pads? I'm on my 2nd pair in less than 2 yrs due to the the material coming away from the plate?? I have just ordered Kyoto pads, anyone used these & are they ok? I hope they are because i'm not wanting to pay £20+ for pads that won't last!!!

I've had the same issue with ebc rear pads in an R1, pads had almost no wear on them before the pad came away.

More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.

They had about 3mm left on them, seems a bit hit 'n' miss with Kyoto, but if they do the job then i'll be happy ;)

Were they the EBC organic pads? I've heard of people having this issue with those. I usually use EBC standards in the rear, never had that problem with those ones.

Not sure if they were organic but as it's the 2nd set to do it I will be avoiding them!!

Seems unusual if not organics. I worked in bike shops selling EBC pads for about 7 years and never saw a set of standards or HH's come back with a problem.

Yep, a mate at work had his front EBC ones disintegrate.

I've got Kyoto on the back of the thou, and they're good enough, bendix MF on the front. Fantastic pads.
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!
