I think you do need to tell from what I recall from a previous similar Question. To me and you, it's just another insurance rip off  'cos they'll tell you that if the bike's not roadworthy, (taxed and mot'd) then it doesn't fall within their terms and conditions so you need to re-insure with another 'off road' insurer 'cos 'we' don't give that cover.  Oh and that means your insurance will now be terminated, for which there's a £35 admin fee and with pro-rata refund of months remaining we'll give you  £xx pounds back with a fee for cancellation, blah blah blah.  I used to surrender my tax, but for what it's worth, don't bother now.  Means I'm more of a risk to the buggers 'cos I might just take my bike out in the ice and snow mighn't I?  and I never used to when it was sorned for winter.  Buggers!!!   Rant over (for now)   :lol :rolleyes :lol

I've currently got a sorn'd bike with no tax, and my insurance co were ok with it, but each company will have a different angle. You'll have to give them a ring and find out what their policy is. In their eyes your less of a risk with your bike in the garage that can't move, but its insured for theft.

Not if you go to Say No to 0870 (http://www.saynoto0870.com) and type in Ebike in the "Search to find an alternative number" box.

Instead of 0906 736 6520 at premium rate you can call 01454 634501 :)

Read all my insurance paperwork and nowhere does it say the company has to be told the bike is on Sorne, so I'll Sorn it and keep quiet should save £50 on admin fees.
