I have a 2002 FZS1000 (in red ) and through the dark months will be doing some fettling.
I have noticed that there are some areas around the engine (in silver) which could do with "touching up". Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best paint around, just for "touching up" purposes? 955

General / Re: Guy Martin's Spitfire« on: 19 October 2014, 08:17:02 pm »But surely the best bit - Series 5 versus the .50 calThat was probably the most remarkable thing, didn't look too bad from the front but the exit holes behind! Problem was - the Messerschmitt had 20mm cannon. A tad bigger than the .50cal and they had that from the outset. Spits only had .50 cal after a few years. They were originally fitted with .303 calibre machine guns 958

Garden hose - cut and split down its length - makes a rim protector for the DIY tyre changers.

Mmmmm....
Going on recommendations - PR2's ordered via link in thread - hope they arrive before next weekend, 'cos the following weekend got to go to a Hawaiian themed party in Weston - Super - Mare from Shropshire, via Stow on the Wold and could do with grippyness (if you get what I mean ) I'll change the chain and sprockets at the same time 961
Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Tyres Gen 1 FZS1000« on: 10 October 2014, 08:47:12 pm »This has probably been asked many times before but...... I need tyres, currently have Road Angel's fitted, which the bike came with. This is the first time I've had Pirelli's on a bike since the 80's when I had them on a GS1000 - they have changed a bit!!!!! I "enjoy" fast A roads, not pushing but enjoying if you know what I mean. The bike before the Thou, was a FJR1300 which had Metzler Z6's on - good tyres and would give consistent grip throughout the life. (Around 10K each pair) So, suggestions please (not on a postcard), I fit my own so mail order will work. I am tempted by Z6's - anyone had any experience with them? 962

All the old GS Suzukis used to show 14.5v with the engine running and lights on. Anything above was regulator issues and anything below was rectifier related. I've always done my diagnostics based on those numbers. Do you have access to a manual with the info in it?

Says it all really
Just bought a Gen 1 FZS1000 after writing off a FJR1300 by hitting a deer. Needed a lighter bike and look what came up. Came with the Givi luggage - sweet. |
