The 2016 FOC-U Bike Picture Challenge
« on: 01 January 2016, 01:13:21 am »
The winner for 2015 with the most challenges completed was VAL.

As I as got the last one of 2015 (sort of ) it falls to me to start the 2016 one

So here it is for 2016. As mentioned, I'm not going to be scoring this,  so someone needs to pick it up. I suggest Val ---who won the last year .

A reiteration of the rules.

1. All challenges must be of YOUR bike and a landmark, or something obscure or creative, something most people can ride to in their area.

2. Picture has to be taken after challenge is made.

3. Challenge is good for a week; if it is not met after that time, the previous picture poster picks a new challenge.

4. Nothing illegal to be challenged.

5. Keep comments to a minimum; if you comment, post the current challenge in bold type after your comment.

6. No repeat challenges.

7. No other bikes can be used, eg, your bike next to a Ducati. Some exceptions will be allowed, eg, your bike next to a bike cop.

8. Only 1 person can win each challenge; any other entrants will not be counted, due to throwing the whole game off track and adding challenges that don't stand.

9. If any dispute about a challenge occurs, 3 oks from others settles the challenge.

Remember, this thread is supposed to get people to want to go ride straight away and beat others to the challenge - be creative, but be sensible about it.

Have fun Foccers!

The 1st one for 2016 is

Your Bike Next to a Paint Ball Center

You sod, I could've sworn that just said "mill", and wasn't specific about what type when I set out with the sole intention of getting that shot in the wee hours of this morning. You wouldn't believe the effort, the cold, the discomfort, the danger I put myself and my bike through to get this shot:

I would accept that ONLY if you remove the rain cover and the disc lock, it was supposed to ride to the challenge  :pokefun

Also there will be a bonus if the mill is on a river  :lol

What if I told you that I rode out to buy the peppermill specifically for this challenge, then put the cover and locks back on the bike when I got back, and took the photo?

Let's see how gullible this chap is  :lol

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, only if you have series of date and time stamped pictures to prove that  :)

By open do you mean without gates or with a big open sign?

Wet and windy this morning!

This is the public skatepark on Ribbleton Park, Preston.

I did a rather impressive run starting with the coffin, into a nac nac then finishing with the crowd pleasing kiss of death, some kids walking to school gave a cheer.  Unfortunately the tripod fell over so you will just have to be happy with this non action picture...

It is a small skatepark, but a skatepark it is

ok, this should be a fun and interesting one:

A picture with your bike in a Then and Now comparison with a historical urban photograph.

Such as these - This is Prestons Miller Arcade in 1902

So, you would find a pic like that, then recreate it with your Fazer in the shot, so this would be something like:

This is Miller arcade today (well, recent - not sure of the exact data...), It is clearly the same place but a different era.  Your Fazer would be in that picture.

The pic needs to be recognizably in the same place (ie you can't take a picture of a field, then your bike outside your new build house).

So you didn't manage the Superman seat topbox grab?   :b

Really like your idea for the next pic too.
