Heh Heh.

Well, it was that godforsaken stutter. It had spent 3 weeks in the garage with the mechanics scratching their heads as to what was wrong, and although it got sorted, I felt whilst riding it to the dealer today, that stutter starting to reappear.

So I thought either keep the Fazer as a model and cycle everywhere, or get something else.

Happy if you're happy. I really don't know what bike I'd get after old Fazer. Underseat storage, low revs torque, nice speed, great brakes. Suspension is the only thing I like more about newer "better", "modern" bikes. And not all - just some. CBR600 Honda for one. :)

There must be something in the water. My fazer too has just given up it's space in the garage for this lovely red VFR 800  :)

what do you think of it then?....compared to fazer?

This is faster, but you don't notice. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

This is more comfortable, as easy to ride, better weather protection, better headlights, louder so people get out of your way and notice you more. . . .

This also has lots of nice little features such as little windows in the body work to check different fluid levels so you don't have to remove tanks and seats etc etc etc

The Fazer, has fantastic front brakes, so I do miss that.

The Fazer also feels lighter than this, so is more confidence inspiring in adverse weather . . . .

They both have pretty similar MPG. I filled the tank up, have done 80miles and the needle has only just moved off the top, and that is with thrashing the engine a lot.

The Fazer was nearly always broken, and as I am not very handy, lack a garage/sheltered place to learn how to repair, it was costing me loads just to keep it running.

This... is... BLASPHEMY!!! ARRR!

 :)

Thanks for objective comparison. Enjoy the new bike, hope you'll have more luck with this one.

Many thanks. If I had a garage (seldom of us do in London) then I would just keep the Fazer, and fix it myself with the help of some mates. The Fazer is a wonderful bike, and I miss it when it worked well.

The new one is also pretty damn fine though. Maybe I'll get an FZ1 Fazer as me next bike . . . . . .

cant see you ever having probs with that engine mate ?........check you levels regular, and keep clean oil in it...realy are good motor!!....only weak points i found where?.......brakes (bit weak!!)....and fast speed handling?...(bit wallowy on bendy,s).....also keep eye on shock linkage!!....prone to siezing up(usaly lack of maintenance)...ie grease!!!!!!!

600 handles really well, and is way more confidence inspiring than the Fazer I found.

The brakes do pale in comparison though. The Fazer, I think, will be unmatched on brakes for a while.
