For Sale & Wanted / Re: Wanted - Bagster tank cover
« on: 17 November 2017, 10:49:40 pm »
I have a black one, basically as new.

Any remotely realistic offer and it's yours, won't be able to post for a week or so though.

Give your bid to Children in Need and we're all happy.

Actually I have a Baglux bag to fit - a bit battered but functional for a laptop for instance.  You can have that also.

Thanks for taking the time to do that kebab. Mine is exactly the same - I think I've been looking for some kind of complicated clasp type to clip onto the tank or something that just isn't there..
It's just round the frame, tighten up, done from the looks of it. (Then find somewhere to make the excess look tidy)

thanks again.

It is actually useless, not next to...

Kebab - do you just have straps around the frame or do you have some kind of clever clip?
thanks

The one I have has different length straps on either side with different clips on each side. Do the straps just go around the frame tubes? I can see how this would work on one side but on the other the straps are a lot longer.

Just wondering if its been "modified" at some point. Do you have photos of each side?

Thanks
I'm in a very similar boat. Everything I read about these harnesses refers to clips of some kind on the strap to clip to the bottom edge of the tank. The one I bought just seems to have loops to maybe go round the frame rail with no clever clips. Is this right or am I potentially missing something?

Thanks in advance.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Wind noise in helmets
« on: 07 March 2013, 11:42:37 pm »
It's not really all about helmets in itself. It's about the way the wind hits your helmet too.

For instance, I use the new Shoei Neotech which is touted as a rather quite helmet. But things are a lot noiser (and I mean a lot!!) on my Fazer than on my Bandit 1200 with the same helmet. So the type of helmet you have is only half the story.

You see, my Bandit is modded with me sitting at a different angle to my Fazer. The double bubble screen and fairing are obviously different too. So these elements are making the wind hit my helmet with a noisier type of buffer on the Fazer than with the Bandit. Pure luck really. Even if I got one of those ultra quite Schuberts, I'd still be experiencing a lot of noise on my Fazer. In this case, I can thank God that i'm actually half deaf!! :b

I think the easier and cheap option is those foam plugs. They are real soft now compared to long ago.

I think how the air moves over your helmet is then an issue. In my experience the less vent mouldings, spoilers etc on the lid ie smoother then the quieter.
And always use ear plugs.

Introduction / Another hello

Just got myself a y reg blue fazer - very nice with 30,000 miles, hugger, extenda, heated grips, top box... as they would suggest well looked after and very clean.

Great little bike and very happy, I'll be here essentially for background on upkeep, tyres, recs etc and whatever else comes up.

Hello all.
