Clock and Trip Meter keep re-setting
« on: 16 July 2014, 09:01:54 pm »
Bloody dash clock keeps re-setting to 1.00am when I turn off my ignition.
Just checked the permanent power connection, with the ignition off, and I'm getting a voltage of 10.5V where as the battery is showing a voltage of 12.9V, at the auxillary fuse I get the same voltage as the battery.
Two questions, do you need a full 12V to keep the clock running with the ignition off?
and where could I be losing the 2V?

The dash needs somewhere between 10 and 11V to retain the data.
The permanent voltage does not run through the ignition switch. Might be a dying battery. Or a problem with the fuse.
Or a grouding problem. That's the connector with black cables on top of the battery. Also you should check the dash's connector and the one underneath the left inner fairing.
