Nice work, maybe she can teach Ruby Walsh a trick or two on how to stay on a horses back at the last couple of fences!  :lol

I take it you didn't see the race then. 12 lengths down at the last and won by a length. Too much pride for the military jockeys to lose to a little girl.

Shergar was an acclaimed Irish racehorse, and winner of the 1981 Epsom Derby by a record 10 lengths, the longest winning margin in the race's 226-year history. This victory earned him a spot in The Observer newspaper's 100 Most Memorable Sporting Moments of the Twentieth Century

I didn't see the race SLG but only one horse.......the above........could pull a stunt like that in my book. If this girl has rode this horse this well and made up 13 lengths to win then she and the horse need to be in the hall of fame. I don't buy the shoite about military jockeys not letting a girl win

And the horse was 5/4 Favourite.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

Shergar. ....... ..I'm talking about proper racing not that namby pamby flat stuff.
Oh and according to the RP it was 15 lengths she made up with just over a furlong to go.
even they described it as an amazing win. Watch a video of it and tell me then you're not impressed.

Jennys Surprise lived up to her name by winning the Royal Artillery Gold Cup at Sandown Park.
If it was hardly a shock that the 5-4 favourite triumphed in the 133rd running of this historic contest at Esher, the manner of her triumph certainly was.
It seemed Newton Thistle, with Harry Wallace on board, would get over the line first after seeing off Cowards Close - chasing the first back-to-back victory since 1890 - and going clear two fences from the end of a three mile chase which must have felt rather longer given the soft ground.
But Brodie Hampson refused to give up in the heavy rain and, as the leader visibly tired going up the steep final furlong, caught and overtook Newton Thistle to win by one-and-a half lengths

now be a good chap and fuck off if you are going to belittle someone else's acheivement!

umm..... fuck off eh?

SLG if you were savvy enough to read between the lines then you would realise I'm saying that the girl has done tremendously well. I still think the jockeys may well have conspired but either way its still a feat to come from where she did to finish first the way she did. The very fact that the only horse to do similar was a legend (even Red Rum catching Crisp wasn't this good and RR was no namby pamby flat jumper.)
I came on and posted a comment I thought relevant with subsequent remarks (Pegasus) said in the finest piss taking traditions of this site, if you cannot appreciate that then you need to take (horse joke!) the blinkers off and either wise up to the piss taking or if you can't then maybe you should just fuck off and join mums net

accusing jockeys who have £4k at stake between 1st and 2nd of chucking a race is a pretty serious matter. you obviously haven't seen the finish of the race, posted for you however.
i understand piss taking just fine, your remarks came over as small minded and malevolent.
you will forever be the LWW

LWW?

nah... you've got me on that one.....no idea at all but from your overall demeanour I'll read it as being some sort of wanker

I've seen enough of the military to know that you do what you are told....jump means jump and due to her dad's illness it would not have been beyond the stretch of anyone's imagination if either the jocs conspired or the "RSM" informed them of what was to happen to allow a great send off for her dad

on a slight tangent but all the same....horse racing is bent as a ten bob note and I have direct experience of that (a famous footballer's horse running on X day.....told us not to back it as it would not win but get everything on it on Y day as its coming in....and so it continued)

BTW I did follow the link but only the story was there, I'm not bothering watching it now, being the LWW? that I am

years ago I took my dog to a dog training class where the ex Police dog handler said he'd had a stroppy woman in who wouldn't listen to a word of his instruction, she said she trained horses and knew better than him. I'll never forget his words to me that the horsey brigade think they're a cut above everyone. Sounds just like you pal especially your terminology of "be a good chap...........

Just watched the race and the No.2 horse (black n white) made up a similar distance to the winner. The other 2 horses were knackered. Just my 2p
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
