Anyone got any 30mm risers knocking about to suit gen1 1000, renthal 758 bars, so 22mm bars. Prefer black, but silver would do. Ta.

Got a vibration through the right hand bar at 80ish mph. It starts at around 4k and is worse at around 5k rpm. It makes my fingers go completely numb after awhile. Can get it to do it on the centre stand, so engine related as far as I am concerned. Will check the carb balance when I get a chance. Have checked the TPS, loosened engine mounts and retorqued them all to no avail. Any other things to check? Surely this can't be normal!! Bike will have to be sold if it is, I do most of my miles sitting at those speeds so need it to be smoother. Any ideas chaps.

Anyone run a 17 tooth front sprocket? Just done 640 odd miles, mostly motorway and I feel just over 5000rpm at 80mph is a little revy for my liking. Mpg was between 47 and 50 so happy with that, but lower revs should improve this further. Will my speedo over read or under read?

After a taller/wider screen for gen1 1000. I have the standard screen and a taller, flip type screen, but being 6'5" I need more. The mirror mod has done away with the turbulence, could just do with losing some of the wind blast.

Is the rear mudguard a separate item on the gen1 or is it all in one with the undertray? Some previous owner muppet decided to cut it off and the lights, seat etc now get covered in road grime.
Anyone got one for sale?

I work in arboriculture, we keep the powerlines clear of trees and vegetation. Bit hot this time of year in full chainsaw kit, but outside in the sun, so can't grumble.

When the fuel tank is full the needle shows full and is stable, when it starts to drop it waves around quite alot. Is this most likely a dodgey sender unit?

Now that its taxed I was able to have a little spin tonight, very different to the old zx10. It seems abit hair trigger on the throttle to me. I thought the gearing may have been changed. Front is 16 and rear is 44, from what I gather that is stock. 60mph in top gear is 4000rpm, seems abit high to me. That would be 80mph on the old zx. Alot of my miles are on the motorway at 80mph+, this will be sitting at close to 6000rpm, surely that can't be right. Ivans kit fitted with K+N and it has loads of go. Does that sound right to you guys and can I gear it more for the motorway?

Is the original zorst can a slip on one or is it all in one with the link pipe. Wondering if I need to order a link pipe for a motad venom can or just the can itself. Ta for any help.

Is the rear number plate holder/mudgaurd a seperate part, or is it all one with the undertray part. Just realised what looked different on mine, someone has cut it off to "improve" the design  And if it is, has anyone got one? Will put it up in the wanted section if so.

Is it normal for fazer1000 gen1 to like starting without choke? I'm used to an old zx10 that loves choke, revs its doodahs off and then settles down. Only just got the fzs and starting from cold requires no choke. Starts straight up, doesn't smell rich, ticks over and idles nicely. The other quick question is, is it normal for the fan to cut in after ticking over for 5mins in a shed. Thanks for any insight.

Hi all. Just bought a 2001 fazer 1000 to replace my 1988 zx10 that I just sold. Didn't want to sell, but fancied a change. Not even ridden it yet as no t+t untill tuesday. can't wait.
