General / Apologies...
« on: 19 June 2013, 11:41:37 pm »
if my posts the other night were a bit off colour.   :o :o :o :o

I made the mistake of mixing my ptsd meds, with alcohol.     Bad combination.  I just had to see if the warnings about mixing with booze,  were founded on empirical evidence,  or were a get out clause by the manufacturer.   I'd guess both  :eek    Aggression was off the scale.

Sorry if I upset anyone.   Seem to have managed to upset everyone else I came into contact with.  :'(

I don't often get a chance to visit these days, due to various headfucks life has thrown in my general direction.    But I just want to say a big thank you to Deefer666,  Mark,  for not only looking after my bike(s),  when I went awol in the head,   and for charging me nothing,  even when I knew it(they) were taking up half the man's workspace.
I can't say much more,  except if there were more people like Mark around,  the World wouldnt have any problems.

If you need any bodywork, or mechanical work doing,  PLEASE, do us all a favour,  and try and give the business to Mark.   He has treated me as good as my folks have when things got bad,  and "friends"  became invisible.

THANK YOU MARK!!!!!!!!!!

I  can't repay you fully in this lifetime,  but I'll try.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Still Alive
« on: 17 December 2012, 07:19:51 pm »
I've been away a long time. Serious illness, job loss and all that goes with it, but I've still got my gen1 waiting in the wings, til times get better.

Even if I end up on the street,  the bike will still be there.   It gives me hope.

I see a lot of new names.   But still a few of the old foul dudes  :D

Merry xmas to all and safe winter biking to the hardcore foccers.

Looking forward to reading about whats been happening in foccerland since I've been away, and making new foccer friends.

After searching for a long time, I found a free sky 1 feed on wiziwig.tv  or wiziwig.eu     the one below is currently working good for sky 1 coverage.   Beats having to pay extra to watch it on TV.  You get ads popping up on some feeds,  but they will close when you click on the x button.    Not as good as tv,  but good enough for me ! :D

General / Insomnia
« on: 13 November 2011, 04:17:09 am »
Insomnia is a right bastard.   I've tried stilnocht and other hypnotics, but they're no use.  Can anyone recommend a sleeping tab that will knock me out for a few hours?   I used to get mogadon, but it's not available now.

General / Another Question for IT Foccers
« on: 03 November 2011, 05:58:31 pm »
Apologies for the plethora of posts, but I just remembered another question.
Our computer has become really slow.  Any ideas on what I can do to get it working quickly again?
thanks

General / What is the fastest Web Browser?
« on: 03 November 2011, 05:54:41 pm »
I've got the latest Internet Explorer and Firefox, but they have been terribly slow the last few weeks.   Can anyone recommend a fast one?   I remember I had one on my old computer, which was a beta, or test one, and it was very quick, but I can't remember what it was?
Any ideas?

General / Question for IT foccers
« on: 03 November 2011, 03:38:09 pm »
Is it possible to password protect folders on Windows 7?    My kid regularly scans all my stuff if I leave my account open, and some of it is not really suitable.   Downloads from Streetfighter with naked babes draped over bikes isn't exactly what I want her to see?

Any advice gratefully received.

Your Suggestions and How you can help / Color of Forum
« on: 03 November 2011, 02:24:13 pm »
Can I suggest the color of the forum (this greyish hue)  could be replaced to something like green, or the old blue, which I liked?    Is it possible to say change the color once a month?

General / Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one
« on: 19 October 2011, 12:21:22 pm »
My lid got scratched by falling off the passenger seat,  when I was busy putting the disc brake on. The lid is a viper RS -V 121.  Also, anyone know where I can get a battery for the bluetooth?

(Edit - erroneous photo removed)

I've got carbon fibre fairing infills, and side panels, and the two box type covers on my gen1.   On a couple of the pieces,   around the corners,  there is a slight discoloration where the lacquer has lifted a tad,  leaving small white marks.     How can I repair this.     I heard tell that you can rub it down back to the CF then just pain lacquer over the top.

Question - what should I use to rub it down,  and what type of lacquer - name, where to get it, method of application, should I use for the job.

Any ideas?

thanks

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / New Brake Discs - is fitting an arse?
« on: 19 October 2011, 05:43:47 am »
I've found a set of new brake discs I got from ebay a few years ago.  They came via hong kong,  and seem substantial enough (wavy type),  and had some good feedback from folk in the uk and a lot of units sold here.  I was just wondering how much pain is involved in replacing them for the standard discs (which only have 13k on them).   I've not the know how to do it myself,  and on such a safety critical component wouldn't try if I could.

Any ideas on cost?   I'll probably ask Deefer when I get some cash together, but just thought I'd ask now as I've found a few bits to go on.   Found some WRP racing jack up dog bones, which look nice as well.  Still in packet, and cost over 60 notes.   Much nicer than the last ones I had on.
