OK, so here we go,

shock arrived to day and looks completely different.

has anyone spotted this before or does anyone know what the deal is???

To my untrained eye, the travel is longer, the spring softer, the dimensions of the shock body are different and it looks a lot newer than the 2007 shock which it was sold as.

Just a head up to anyone buying tyres,

I was recently advised to buy a 55 tyre instead of a 50.
Had the tyres changed this morning and I personally think it's the best thing I've changed on the bike so far.
Turn in is better, mid cornering feel improved, slightly higher back end which I prefer.
I run on s20 evo tyres.
The only slight downside would be that it takes a tiny bit more clutch on take off but no big deal.

All personal experience but maybe someone else will enjoy the change

As per title,

Cant find one anywhere.

Looking to fit an r1 shock to my f1, or if someone has an alternative that would be brilliant.

Thanks

Id be inclined to agree with all of you, no idea why a shock would be removed other than possibly an upgrade, or else to remove and resell an upgrade perhaps?? This would be my guess if I had to make one.
Also the bike is now closer to 4500 miles as it gets quite regular use. I believe the mileage to be genuine as I know the dealer and the bike had the original tyres fitted, old and squared off but not particularly worn.
I do find the ride harsh and a bit vague at times on the rear.
Thinking of going for a yss shock, don't really have the cash to blow on anything more expensive right now. That is unless any of you have something for sale??😀😀

Yea thats the exact thread I found on the 2015 shock. I've been trying to look up spring weights etc to see if it will give the desired result and not just look sweet..
Ive also googled a lot to try and find one of these mysterious satan adapters. Havent been able to find a picture of one let alone a sales site unfortunately.

I spied a thread on how you can fit a 2015 r1 shock to an fz1 pretty much like for like. Id order one now if I knew for sure it would work on a gen 2..
Its definetly the standard fz1 shock, pics coming up soon. Just couldnt get my head round it leaving a dealership like that..

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Suspension fitted the wrong way up?!
« on: 13 April 2017, 01:47:53 am »
Hi,

Is there any reason why my rear fz1 suspension would be fitted with the damping adjuster screw at the top and rebound cog at the bottom???

Just looked at the owners manual and its defiantly backwards.

Bought the bike from a main dealer with only 2000 miles and a good history.

Spot on, thanks for replies.
Uploaded a new map over the weekend from the map pack and it seems a lot better. Just found out my shock damping screw adjustment is broken so dyno will have to wait till I get that sorted.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Fz1 bogging down after de cat
« on: 06 April 2017, 09:46:22 pm »

quick question, does anyone have any idea why my fz1 could be starting to bog down between about 1800 and 2600 (roughly) rpm??
She has a pc5 with jondaddy82 map, copperdawg flies, remus powercone slip on, and airbox mod. Last night I took out the middle cat and took a test run this evening, strangely enough it seems to be running smoother and with a little more power above 3500 rpm. But under this, especially over the first few miles, the bike seemed to struggle and bog down.
Will the bike compensate for this at all even with the o2 sensor unplugged??? or do I need to bite the bullet and get to a dyno??
Otherwise, what a fecking awesome bike, had it for 6 months and just getting to give her the riding she deserves now=D

For Sale & Wanted / Fz1 Remus Powercone
« on: 29 March 2017, 09:01:09 pm »
Fz1 stainless steel powercone for sale.

Great condition only been on since November.

Selling due to wanting something carbon to match the rest of the bike, would even consider a swap.

Looks great and with being stainless steel it can be polished up to a really high finish.

Complete with baffle.

Struggling to add photos from my phone so maybe best to pm and I can email them through??

£150 plus postage.

Thanks

No probs, I find collect plus to be pretty reasonable.
Maybe you could send me a pm with a final price including postage if you get a chance. No rush I'm not in a hurry really.

Thanks for getting back to me

Also a carbon fibre exhaust, lets see whats out there.

Thanks for looking.

Hello,

Just wondering where you fitted the auxiliary lights??

I'd be interested in them and the carbon radiator sides.

Thanks
