Thanks for this, i will go and have a look at the cheap tankbag, if seems decent quality i might get one, take the load off my back  :lol

I had one for a couple of years in the past. Good quality though these seem a different make/model. I bust my zip stuffing it to the gills - It wasn't the bags fault  :b

For Sale & Wanted / Re: Bike Sat Nav

I've got a crappy £20 unit which isn't technically waterproof, but has never had a problem in the rain. It's custom mounted on the (dark) screen and works through my autocom unit. Perfik and not too worried if it takes a swan dive off the bike at that price (I have my phone as backup if all else fails). No way I'm paying £££ for a unit which has 'motorbike' in the title, but is otherwise the same as the cheap units  :b

Santander ferry already booked for late April and some (many?) trips around the North of England / South of Scotland will be on the cards as usual; with the odd couple of nights going further into scotland, north of Glasgow.  :thumbup

I've got R&G and also had them on the Bandit. Cheap as chips, easy to fit and work well, though they had a batch about 2-3 years ago that didn't warm up much (I assume that's sorted now?)

I've had 2 sets of R&G. The first were bought about 4 years ago for another bike. They would go so hot, they were uncomfortable......brilliant.
I bought another set last year and they were luke warm at best. After doing a bit of research, I found out that they had a period of manufacture where loads were crap (probably moved production to somewhere far East with cheap labour). I sent them back and the replacements are fine. Still not as hot as the original set though.

Hello mate, I have no idea to be honest. I take delivery tomorrow and the guy(s) that had it before me obviously loved riding more than they did cleaning. It's been out in all weathers and needs some surface corrosion sorting out. Nothing too serious and the price I paid reflects it. But there are zero chicken strips, so it might have had the mods done to suit the aggressive riding. I'll know more when I start to investigate (though I've been on one before, I actually bought it without a test ride - I must be mad!)

Introduction / Helloooooooo

Morning all,
I've just purchased a 2009 FZ1S and thought I'd pop in and say hello. I still have a 1200s Bandit, so they'll be competing for my affection over the winter (as I try to give the FZ1S the love it clearly hasn't had in its life so far). The winner will get to stay with me next year and for the foreseeable future  :)
Hopefully, you lot are a friendly bunch and can give me loads of hints on ownership  :D
