For Sale & Wanted / Fazer FZS1000 Seat« on: 18 March 2023, 01:21:00 pm »
Hi all
An Seat for sale - this has been modified by someone prior to me buying it. It is probably 1/2" lower than standard, some of the foam has been removed which has got rid of the angled edges of the original seat. Whoever did it made a good job of it. Purchased for my wife to ride the Fazer, she never did, but I used the seat all the time as I found it more comfortable and preferred it to the standard. £80 including postage Best wishes Timbo 5

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Gen 1 LED Running light question« on: 01 February 2022, 10:14:39 am »
Use a relay!
You could also add a separate switch for them as well, so you have the option of turning them off in broad daylight when they are not required. I personally hate the things, far too bright, often badly adjusted and therefore dangerous to oncoming traffic. After 40yrs on a bike I still don't feel the need. Cyclists even worse ... I had an oncoming pushbike the other night, the light was actually brighter than the adjacent traffic. Worse still, he was on the promenade which has street lighting anyway! 10

Fabulous and the best tyre I have used in 20yrs., wet or dry. I recently ran the Fazer around Thruxton on them and they were awesome. I have them on the Tiger Sport and also my wife's Street Triple. 11

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Hugger« on: 09 September 2021, 10:52:19 am »
Hi all,
I need a new hugger, th eexisting one on my 05 has cracked. I have no idea who the manufacturer of it was. It is mounted with a moulded broad lip that sits on the cross-member of the swinging arm, it has an integral chainguard, which incorporates a mounted point. Does any one have similiar? Or a recommended manufacturer? Bw Tim 14

My two bob's worth and friendly advice only, tell me to piss off if you want.
Keep it ..... join a local RoSPA Advanced group and change your style of riding! and be VERY well behaved for as long as the points are active. You'd miss it if it wasn't there and you are just as likely to get nicked in your car in a 30mph limit as you are on a bike. Just re-think how you ride/drive. Best wishes 15
Front page / Re: New MOT rules regarding HID and LED lights: Good news - You can now have them« on: 13 May 2021, 08:44:15 am »MOT special notice 01-21: headlamp conversions - GOV.UK) I will have to say I disagree ... there are far too many very intense and blinding LED lights on the road now that are actually a hazard to other road users. Its a bad move because it has not been investigated enough, nearly all the LEDs are too biased to the blue end of the spectrum and that is the issue. Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: LED Indicator lamps« on: 13 May 2021, 08:36:53 am »
Update,
I fitted the adjustable relay and it actually works better than the one supplied with the lamps, which caused the dash repeaters to stay on and dim when the indicators flashed on/off. The adjustable relay allowed me to trim the flash rate down nearer to the original rate and the dash repeaters now work as original. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323444468189 £6.00 each Bw 17

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: FZS1000 or FZ1« on: 02 May 2021, 01:19:47 pm »
They are becoming less common with low miles.
Ensure you get a warranty. 18K is nothing on one of these if it has a service history and it has had regular oil changes. The only other thing to ensure is that the EXUP valve is working and not seized up. You could negotiate them to service it for you and provide photo proof? Good luck in finding one, I am still sorely tempted to buy another and store it. I LOVE my Fazer, they are a fantastic bike. My only gripe is the side case options available and the bike did not suit my wife's knees for too long hence I sold my original Fazer. If you are riding solo just stick a bag across the pillion seat and go. I fitted a SW Mototech rack and use a Givi 45 ltr topbox. Bw 23

FZS1000 here too,
I have had two, regretted selling the first. Luckily later found a nearly as good 2nd. Take your time , find a minter one and then Ivanise and upgrade the suspenders - I'd recommend either Maxton or Nitron but I found Maxton very approachable and you get a personal service. It will be money well spent. I have a Tiger Sport as well but I err towards riding the Fazer every time. Simple, straightforward and none of the new-fangled electronic gizzmos that you do not need. Enjoy! 24
