Im gonna get some new nuts for the linkages as the standard one's are made of cheese :lol

so it might be a while before she's fitted up right, need to smear some grease round it so the bolts slip in easily into those orifices down below  :b

I have done this shock mod and just returned from a few days in Wales after 500+ miles, I can say it is a worthwhile mod, the difference can be felt from the off and the bike feels a lot more planted even fully loaded with topbox, panniers and a f** f***** like me.

I actually purchased 2 shocks and made 2 kits so have a spare with a red spring.  ;)

whats the ride quality like ?..a lot has been said about  the bikes feeling planted, much of which can be attributed to correct weight matched springs,as the stock shock is way undersprung for a heavier rider. As soon as any other shock goes on a fazer its usually an improvement as such...Its the damping quality I noticed with say the Ktech shock, much more compliant ( when its working ! )..I dont particularly want hard damping , as my bike is predominantly a tourer, so I need ride quality, but with good handling.

I have a back problem and managed approx 100 mile straight run without a stop and then only for a toilet break, got a bit of a numb bum on the M54 towards the end but soon as we got on A roads that seemed to disappear.

If your coming over to K-Tech your welcome to come and have a look as I'm only a couple of mile down the road.

I rode a new bike today.

It looked, smelt and felt like the old one but riding it, it was like a new bike.

So stable and chuckable. No wallowing about. Fanfuckingtastic.

A bit bouncy on some fast bumps but a bit of damping adjustment will sort that.

Thanks Luke for a great upgrade.
