That depends on your riding style and how much you're putting in the tank.
I found the low fuel warning light comes on very early. I used to fill up as soon as possible and would only get about 14 litres in. Now I tend to ride about 40 miles before doing so and fill beyond the bottom of the filler tube so usually get 19 litres. That normally gives a range of 225 miles on my regular commute.

With my normal steady riding I get 60 m.p.g.. With more spirited riding I have had it drop to 55 m.p.g., but with advancing years (me rather than the bike) this doesn't seem to happen quite so often these days.
From a full tank to the gauge showing between empty and 1/4 (and the low fuel warning light coming on) this gives me a range of 200 miles. FZS600 2001 model.
I did push it to 225 miles the other day by which time the gauge was nearly on empty.
I've never managed to get more than 17 litres in at fill up, so maybe "Fazerider" is braver than me when it comes to running low on fuel  ;) .
Probably of no great interest, but there is 1.5 ltrs of fuel in the bottom of the tank that can't be used. On my bike with 5 ltrs of usable fuel in the tank the gauge shows just under 1/4. That's with the bike level and stationary, so maybe a bit different when on the move and the fuel is jiggling about.

I usually get about 185 ish before the fuel light comes on - how many miles can you get with the light on, sensible riding ?

20 litre tank (2001 Fazer).

90 km/h in sixth gear gives about 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres (that's about 250 miles per 20l tank).
Regular town and open road ride is about 5.5 litres (some 220-230 miles per tank).
140 motorway or really revvy rides give about 6 - 6.5 litres per 100 kms (about 200 miles per tank).

I usually top up after 300 kilometres. It takes between 14 to 17 litres to fill it then. If there is no gas station near, I'm confident that genthe throttle use will give me at least 80 more kilometres after the fuel light is turned on (usually around 300 kilometres since last top-up).
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.

Remember the 2002/03 Foxeye model has a slightly bigger tank (2 litres more?), so it can probably hit 250 miles before running out.

You can also enlarge the tank's vacuum hole just under the petrol cap to allow more fuel in (details lurking somewhere on the old website), although if you can already do 200+ miles to a tank your a*se will be the limiting factor between stops, not fuel range.

Since switching to the 1000, I find it does about 10mpg less than the 600. Don't think any middleweight bike is as economical as the FZS600, although 500 twins or early Diversions (bleurgh) might just edge it

I get about 180 miles per tank on the 99 Fazer. Always get about 15 litres in the tank on fill up. Really annoying to fill up though because of filler pipe going into tank a few inches. I understand this was changed with later models.

After two decades of not really bothering about fuel economy and petrol prices, I've decided to start logging my consumption - might be interesting in another decade :saddo:

2003 FZS600
My first fillup today was 18.81 litres @ 132.9p/l giving 207.2 miles - works out to 50.1mpg. All central London commuting (10 miles each way).

Probably using a little more than I should do because I'm still getting used to the clutch biting point and over-revving when setting off in stop-start traffic. It's not been that cold so expect it to go down once it starts getting chilly.

If you want to get REALLD SAD ... you can get extra MPG by lying flat on the tank at any speed above 50  :rollin . You get some wierd looks though :o

But then, if you want fuel economy then don't buy a bike that has 4 carbs, runs a 12.1 compression ratio and throws half its fuel away unburnt down the exhaust pipe. :rolleyes

Get a Honda 90 ... Half the third world can't be wrong.

I normally get between 190 - 200 miles to a tank full comutting from Portsmouth to Basingstoke which is a mix of dual carriageways and twisty B roads. on my 1 long ride between Portsmouth to Redruth Cornwall 1 only got 180 miles but then I must admit when I got on the A30 I did open her up and was doing upto 100, If I had stuck to cruising at 80 as i had on A303 I would have gone further before refilling. have to also agree that I had to stop due to numb bum twice so the fill up at Indian Queens was welcome!!

It ain't what you ride, it's who you ride with!!!
