Fitted new upgraded sprocket nut and locking tab , then my brakes turned up in post, SBS . Right result i thought , fitted nice and easy . Started checking other bits over then bang . Front brake hoses have some nasty splits in  :'( . Not all the way through but not worth risking , so been on ebay and got full front set wezmoto braided lines( 2 piece lines) . Wanted to go for the Hell lines , but the wezmoto lines worked out cheaper and got to be better than whats fitted . Thats my fun day in the sun  ;)

Took it out on the mad mile, up the back roads to Morcott, on to Uppingham, down  the Uppinham/Market Harborough road and back home.  Then gave it a quick splash of water - only cos wifey was washing her bike and I felt guilty.

Just been up in the lakes for 150 mile blast on the fz1 with my bro-in-law (he was on his mille called ASBO). Got my pegs down for the very first time, and shit my pants when it happened! Did it a few more times on the way home from Honister, well chuffed! Its my knee next ::)
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

gave mine its first clean since i got it, and replaced the old worn out number plate:

So today the weather is good again, pretty hot. I figured before I go out for a run for the afternoon I should give my Fazer a quick once over and fit the first of the new bits i've bought for it.

A few bugs present on the front (bleurgh):

most of the rest of the bike is just a thin film of dirt/dust, like this:

in particular the wheels:

and top of the priorities list of parts to replace; the number plate which has started to delaminate at the top (and which also strangely has 4 holes in it, but two bolts? (possibly re-holed with  new tail tidy?):

Some mess left from the Scott oiler (anyone tell me how to adjust this to lower the rate, this whole side of the bike has some oil contamination so i assume its set too high?):

After a quick clean down with some Prima Hydro, Autosmart G101 and a sash brush for the crevices (and then protected with HydrO2 to help keep it clean):

New plate fitted, with some new bolts (legal sized ;)):

And yes, I did go back out after looking at this and square up the yellow bolt so both the slots point the same way  :rolleyes :rollin

I'll more or less keep riding and doing quick washes till the weather gets worse, during the winter I will strip the bike down and correct all the panels, but for now I would rather be out riding it :lol

Chazzo's ? do you only need the lever, so you do not change the whole clamp too,

I never used to trust aftermarket oil filters, as one mechanic told me they're generally not very well made - anybody else heard similar?
No !!!

I expect and trust them so far,, for my bike and all my cars and vans, even my new hilux has aftermarket filters.
Just goes to show then, even in the trade there's so much bullshit  :rolleyes

never had any trouble with them, change them at 3000 miles which probs helps  ;)

They are the chinese version of the pazzo levers!

These are the shorty type and come with the clamp too, I've had them fitted on a good few bikes and never any issues, I love the feel of them.

Went for a spin with Exup on the one decent road in Kent - Exup shouted at some horsey woman who didn't want to wait in traffic... and I wasn't on my Fazer  :eek  Exup has the photos to prove it...

had a blast down to St Mary's Loch (near Moffat) and another blast on the way home.

Cracking day!

I was invited to a barbeque with some friends, and took the spare helmet and jacket with me. I had fun giving the other youths there lifts on the pillion, just round a short little circuit on back roads. They all came off raving about it; they loved it! Including a rather attractive young lady, who was holding very tight to me... I shall say no more...  ;) :lol

Not found a public road yet that the Fazer can't handle - gravel, potholes, steep gradients in waterfall conditions, wet cattle grids, done em all. However, I must say the Dukes appeal to me, even the little ones. So proper grin factor then?
Gravel in a straight line is no problem; judging and executing your braking for a corner, then getting safely around at reasonable speed is another matter...
