I had an electrical short last Friday that blew the "Ignition" fuse, causing the dash to go dark and the engine to go silent. I had the bike towed to the local MC shop for the week end, but upon notification that they probably would not get to it until later this week, I left work early yesterday and found that one of the aftermarket running light/blinker in front (a cheap Chinese piece of junk) had shorted.
Interestingly, I would have thought the running lights would be on the "Signal" fuse, but no, they share the ignition/dashboard fuse.
Anyhow, once the running light was disconnected and the fuse replaced, all was good and I rode the bike to work today.
On my way home, the clutch cable broke right at the lever... at 16,774 miles! Bummer, so I am out of biking until Thursday at least...

Had her repaired. Then wrapped her up for the winter. 6month of hell on the turquise bandit. :'(

What was wrong with it that you had to get it repaired?

One of the coils had suspected failure. Took all apart turned out to be a cracked spark plug. :rollin :rollin

Weird one, how/why does a spark plug crack?

I've no idea it was number 4 that cracked sits direct in the most weather it was corroded to death and the others where like new. I'll put some pictures up maybe it was a heat thing?? I'm confused why it went myself although it did go when I was way over a tonne

Drilled the thread out of my rear brake master cyclinder after a quick measure showed it almost the same hole centre's as my Harris rearsets  :D

Felt a bit poorly today, so threw a sicky ( koff koff  ;) )
Then sat on my bike in the shed to test out the fit and comfort for riding of my new Furygan Houston Amo jacket which, by coincidence, just happened to turn up today :)  Imagine that, and me just happening to be at home as well!! :lol

I sense you are not telling us the whole story here, IMO the bike may have been out of the shed too  :rollin :rollin

At last found an aftermarket  can that I don' t think is too noisey :)
Picked this up off ebay, brand new but probably old stock, £175,  had similiar one on my gen1 and have been looking for one for a few months, most I have seen have been damaged or overpriced, sometimes both!
The cardboard box it came in weighed more than the can, doesn't sound much louder than the standard can but looks a lot better.
Nice little bracket  for the mainstand to butt up against on left hand side included with it as there is no bracket on the link pipe.
Engine doesn't seem to pick up as well at  low revs so might be back to RaceHQ to get the fuel map tweaked but can live with it for now.

Had some laser cut brackets delivered, fantastic service from LaserFast £33.00 for three brackets, two identical 6mm and one 2mm both mild steel, I sent them some CAD drawings and a member of staff, Nicola went paitently through them with me via several emails to ensure they were correct before cutting them out, and they were delivered within 3 days once we new them to be right.
The two identical brackets are to allow the fitting of a set of Harris adjustable rear sets designed to fit a Kawasaki and the single bracket is for the ignition switch since it found its home on the yokes taken up by the gauges.
I guess you could cut your own for a fraction of the cost but I wouldn't have been happy with my own results and was surprised at the price considering it was for one off's
