Well I finally have something to post after a fair while ^^

I got out in to the garage and begun the work on restoring my 600 back to some sort of rideable condition - today this meant removing the carburettors to replace them with the set I got from the noggyfighter. Didn't take too long but with the rain and the cold I decided to head back inside as I plan on replacing the throttle cables so there was no point in fitting the new set.

It also turns out that my new garage has a serious roof problem whereby ALL of the rain water decides to just funnel in and dump itself all over everything in my garage... needless to say I am not impressed. I went to bug the estate agents but forgot that because it is a bank holiday, they are closed...

Oh also, can anyone tell me what is in photo 3? It appeared when I removed the fuel hose from the carburettors fuel rail

Fair enough, I just didn't recall seeing it during my previous carb removals :)

I hope to use the thou over winter and get the 600 to a reasonable state. It's probably going to have a colour change as well since all the replacement parts I have are in a different colours :P I'm not certain at the moment, but it may end up black to start with - perhaps some red (think more of a crimson) thrown in. Regardless, its mechanical stuff first

Carbs being replaced, fuel tank and fairings being replaced and sprayed (DIY job), new wheels as I already have them and it seems pointless buying new bearings for the old ones, new bearings in the swingarm (should be fun...). I'll probably need new front brake discs as I bought cheap crap last time and having been on the thou it really highlights how bad my 600 was / is

Complete waste of time. I got pissed off with the guys operating my course because they insisted on the following three steps.

1.) Speed is a human error (I accept this)
2.) 90% of accidents are caused by human errors (I'll accept this too)
3.) Speed causes accidents

Completely pointless exercise - excess speed accounts for something like 3% of accidents, and out of that, about half are actually excess speed for the conditions, not actually above the speed limits!

Weekend camping in Snowdonia with a few guys from BCF - stayed at a camping barn just south of Pass of Aberglaslyn:

Got wet heading up there on Friday, had a cracking ride out on Saturday, then another brilliant ride home today:

Fitted the new renthal 17 tooth front sprocket, motorway revs should be less now and more mpg I hope. I also rolled up some flat lead sheet and popped it into the handlebars to try to lessen the vibes in the throttle grip side, 83grms' per side went in. Will give it a ride tomorrow to see how it feels.
