got bike all ready for a 3 1/2 hour round trip to see my mum for mothers day (somerset to east berkshire),went to get my lid/boots out of the airing cuboard and found water pissing down the wall ,boots are half full of water, thankfully the lid was only slightly wet. so spent the morning trying to stop the water and get in touch with my landlords who live below and who's kitchen ceiling is ruined from the water and so never got to do the trip, gutted.
Changed the oil and fitted K&N oil filter. took it for the first spin of the year, man what a huge smile on my face.Incidentally some creepy guy approached me in an Aldi car park ranting about foccing with his friends in some kind of male orgy based role playing forum and riding his internet or something... I'm pretty sure he threatened me with a paddock stand at one point too. Chris
MOT'ed her yesterday, straight through with no advisories so I'm a happy bunny! ditto very happy as well. Met a guy with a fazer 600 there as well thought he was a bit of a tosser so said nowt about FOC.
Got it back from the dealer 15 minutes ago, after he did the following work:new generator (ouch!)new OEM rear shock and linkagesnew chain & sprocketsnew throttle cablenew fork oilnew oil and filterHEL brake hosesnew brake padsnew mirrors (ones I've had for 5 years under warranty that I never got round to fitting)beowulf titanium exhaust (baffle sitting on my desk )new Bridgestone T30 front and rear (used to BT23s and these are supposed to be better)deep cleanSince that lot cost a bit, I'm keeping the FZ1 for a few more years and will probably get a few more bits done - such as new downpipes and possibly an Ohlins shock.Looking forward to riding it home. Have only ridden it 4 times this year since the floods affected things badly where I am.
