Shame AJSUTTON MOTORCYCLES
« on: 10 February 2014, 10:51:04 am »
Spoke to them today to ask why all the prices of their Yamaha parts have not reflected the recent Yamaha price decrease. My main point being the front fairing prices dropping and people not being made aware.

Things like the 2003 600 foxeye fairing dropping in price from £479.68. to £180.30 (Painted) inc vat

The 1998 600 box eye dropping to £213.49 (Painted) inc vat

The 2003 1000 Fazer dropping to £181.59 (Painted) inc vat

AJSUTTON are still charging OLD prices and ripping people off. I was told by a rude guy on the phone who was aware of the price decreases and didn't like the fact I was nobody's fool.

''OUR PRICE IS OUR PRICE DON'T BUY IT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY THE PRICE"
Disgraceful....Ripping innocent people off

It depends on whether these are items that have been held in stock or not. If AJ Sutton bought them at, say, £330 and have had the expense of storing them for a number of years, then I can understand their reluctance to match Yamaha's current price.
If they don't stock the fairings and go to Yamaha when they get an order, not passing on the price drop is indeed, pretty contemptible.

I agree with this. A classic VW parts supplier I used to use charged up to 3 different prices for the same parts at shows, all due to the exchange rates from America.
Broken, bruised, forgotten, sore,
too fucked up to care any more.

Wemoto don't sell fairings never have done. They can't even order them from Yamaha

I doubt they would have every fairing in every colour in stock but hey you never know? Can't be bothered to ring them to find out.

Just ordered a fairing from Sondel, Sidcup at new low price. They didn't have it on shelf, but getting it ordered from Holland. Should arrive in couple of days, but I'll have to go collect it (or organise a courier to pick it up). They're not into posting out huge bulky items.

Yeah I suppose it works both ways. Supermarkets have to sell old stock before putting prices up. Well they're supposed to  ;)

But regardless of who's ripping who here the fact remains.....
anyone now reading these threads thanks to Kentish will  now know that the cheap ones or rather the properly priced ones exist and i'm sure it will sway many an owner to restore their beloved back to original instead of fightering.
this should be celebrated. :woot :woot

as a side note....i know foc all about insurance.....but.....i wonder if insurance companies were even aware of this cheaper price and whether anyone has had their bike financially written off as a result of this discrepancy??? :\

After damaging my fairing last week I was planning on getting it repaired and sprayed, but if I can find a new fairing painted for £180 then I will buy a new one.

All I have to do is find one now.

Anywhere online sell these fairings at that price ?.

Tefer posted the Wemoto shot above. You can order pretty much any OEM part from them if you have the part no.

Should be able to get the same price from a Yam dealer as well

When everyone buys their new panels at the discounted rate, AJ Suttons will have a load of stuff sat on the shelf that nobody currently needs so eventually they will end up reducing them anyway if they want to sell them. It doesn't matter what they paid for them, parts prices should be uniform across all dealerships to prevent people being ripped off. There are far too many greedy companies out there these days. I'm sure they are even making profit at the reduced price, and where people spend their money more wisely these days due to the rising cost of living, its the greedy companies that will eventually fold.
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

I have found the part number using the Yamaha online catalogue and my VIN number.

However mine is coming out at £213.49

Would this require the graphics too or would they already be on it.

Thanks.
I have the part number for the graphics (5LV-28390-10) but cannot find them or the price on wemoto, looks like a trip to the local Yamaha dealer is on the cards.

I enquired on price of decals from Sondel, Sidcup, when I ordered the cowling. £56 + vat. Though that was the Foxeye ones, dunno if they share same decals, and if not, whether the prices are much different.

I replaced my gen 1 thou top fairing in about 2008 after a disagreement with some black ice. I got it from what was George Whites in Swindon. Back then it cost me £180 painted and the decals were about £10 a pair! For me the prices have gone up since then! All relative to the world economic climate i suppose...  :\
