FZS600 Fazer / Mirror vibration
« on: 03 August 2016, 05:19:14 pm »
I have noticed on my fazer when I ride the mirrors vibrate a lot. You can see the car behind you but it's buzzing about a bit... If I touch the mirror you can feel it vibrating. I have had my carbs balanced as I thought it might be that but no joy...

Is this normal?

FZS600 Fazer / Coil resistance
« on: 26 June 2016, 02:39:02 pm »
Hello everyone

So, I am working through the issue my trusty fazer has developed, poor idle and jittery pulling away. More so when hot. I have changed plugs so far and that's not work.  I have checked the plug cap resistance as per the manual and the are all under the 10k the workshop manual states. More like 9k. Also the primary coil resistance is within spec at 2.5 but I just can't get a reading on the secondary coil resistance. Is this the issue? I thought a no secondary resistance reading would cause the bike not to start at all? Mine starts and runs its just poor idle and jittery pulling away. Really bad the hotter it gets.. HELP!!!

FZS600 Fazer / Running problem
« on: 25 June 2016, 10:45:14 am »
So I first got this problem when I was using the bike in heavy rain. Thought I had solved it but havn't

Basically after around 40mins of riding the idle starts going rough, the bike then pulls away very "jittery"

It's hesitant to pull away low down. The bike runs fine when you are further up in the rev range....

Any ideas? I have changed the plugs and checked TPS

FZS600 Fazer / Running issue today when wet
« on: 20 June 2016, 09:30:25 pm »
On my daily commute today heavy rain, bike started feeling like it was running on 3 cylinders. wouldn't pull of clean, engine hesitant and felt like it was going to die. idle was rough also.. when i started it 10 hours later after it had dried off it was fine...bizzare..

so what gets wet on a fzs 600 foxeye to cause that?

FZS600 Fazer / Gear change/front sprocket
« on: 29 August 2015, 06:33:15 pm »
Hello Focers

My bike is a 2003 FZS 600 I have had a slight issue of changing from first to second sometimes when I am pulling away it seems not to go into second gear and goes to neutral This has only happened twice or 3 times to me so its not regularly . I have 21k on the bike and have it from new serviced it etc. I have had a scott oiler on the bike from new also and the chain and rear sprocket are like new still. However to me the front is worn as the teeth are thinner than they should be a slightly curling over.

The chain adjustment is fine also.

I think it maybe the front sprocket. Is there anything I need to know? I was just going to chain the front sprocket and leave the rest. Its the original sprocket so has done 21k not sure if that's a lot for a front sprocket or not.... I guess I am ok just changing the front and leaving the chain in situ?

Any help greatfully received.

FZS600 Fazer / Fsz600 2003 smoking a bit
« on: 04 January 2015, 08:09:52 pm »
I notice it more when I look in my mirror and have a car behind me because it's light are shining on the back of the bike.

It's worse when stationary. I notice other bikes the smokes tends to clear when they warm up but my fazer doesn't seem to do that. I Noticed this a lot of it rains or its cold?

Should I be checking something?

FZS600 Fazer / Speedo issue
« on: 09 December 2014, 10:54:09 am »
Hello all

My speedo stopped working today. It was fine yesterday!!

The lugs don't look broken on the speedo drive. The Odo works fine as does the Rev counter and fuel gauge

I can't remember on the fazer of the needles go right up and down when you first turn the bike on?

Anyone know of a fix for this problem??

Ta Kentish

FZS600 Fazer / lighting issue
« on: 24 November 2014, 10:17:33 pm »
Hello All,
I have noticed recently that my headlight, tail light, speedo lights dim slightly when I apply the brake and the brake light comes on. I am not sure if this is a common fazer thing I only noticed it today. I have heated grips fitted but I disconnected them and it still does it.

Does anyone else FZS600 do this?

FZS600 Fazer / Seized chain guard bolt
« on: 02 March 2014, 08:01:17 pm »
I've been doing a fazer up that I purchased. I have come to remove the tax disc holder someone has put on using the rear chain guard mounting bracket. The bolt is seized it's an Allen head and it's been rounded off, heated it,used a snap on bit in it no good, mole grips, even welded a nut on it and when I turn it the bolt just bends it's ready to snap.

I was just going to let it snap then drill it out and use a nut with a bolt behind. Anyone else done this? Don't want to give it anymore stick and end up snapping the bracket off the swing arm

FZS600 Fazer / Fazer a cracking bike
« on: 23 February 2014, 05:22:39 pm »
I went to test ride a new NC750 which I have been tempted by. Granted its only a twin so different from a fazer. I couldn't believe how boring it was to ride. My fazer is a 2003 and I could by the NC no problem but I must say these fazers are a cracking bike. I couldn't ride a new NC750 instead of a Fazer. Ok they might be better on fuel and newer but the fazer would leave it standing. The fazer is a much better machine.....In many ways...

FZS600 Fazer / replacing fork leg bottom
« on: 23 February 2014, 05:19:18 pm »
I am currently doing up a fazer I bought as a project. It has been down the road. I have done most things on it. I want to replace the fork leg bottoms but what I want to know is will are they easy to do? I can remove the oil etc myself. Will I need a fork seal driver to put seals in the new fork leg or is that only if you are putting a seal in and keeping the fork leg whole?

One of the brackets on the bottom of my headlight that the front fairing screws to has come off. It's not a big deal but wanted to know the best thing to use to stick it back on?

Thank you people

FZS600 Fazer / Front wheel issue
« on: 18 February 2014, 07:31:43 pm »
Hello all, I noticed whilst I had my bike up on the paddock stands and spun the front wheel it only rotates about one turn? I stripped the calipers put in new seals cleaned all the pistons so they were like new. With the calipers off the wheel spins a lot more freely, the discs are not warped as I hooked up a new pair that I have on another wheel and it still done the same. Am I going mental or its this normal? I get about one whole revolution of the front wheel when I spin it.

Pads are pretty worn I guess. Help me!!

FZS600 Fazer / Original Fairing Graphics
« on: 11 February 2014, 12:33:27 pm »
I think it was bought up that they have a clear layer of lacquer over the top giving them a shiny finish. Well I have just got mine. They come in a Matt finish. BUT once you have applied them there is a thin coat of plastic over the top which protects the sticker. Once this is peeled off it will reveal the shiny as it came out the showroom finish!!!!

So whoever thought they are lacquered all I can say is Doh!!!

General / Shame AJSUTTON MOTORCYCLES
« on: 10 February 2014, 10:51:04 am »
Spoke to them today to ask why all the prices of their Yamaha parts have not reflected the recent Yamaha price decrease. My main point being the front fairing prices dropping and people not being made aware.

Things like the 2003 600 foxeye fairing dropping in price from £479.68. to £180.30 (Painted) inc vat

The 1998 600 box eye dropping to £213.49 (Painted) inc vat

The 2003 1000 Fazer dropping to £181.59 (Painted) inc vat

AJSUTTON are still charging OLD prices and ripping people off. I was told by a rude guy on the phone who was aware of the price decreases and didn't like the fact I was nobody's fool.

''OUR PRICE IS OUR PRICE DON'T BUY IT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY THE PRICE"
Disgraceful....Ripping innocent people off
