ebay feedback question?

Had a couple of bids from possible idiots.
When looking at their feed back there are a couple of "complete time wasters" comments, but with a positive feedback icon ??
 
One of them has only one feedback (positive) yet it says avoid ??
 
Am I missing something or can you not leave negative feedback now?

Just cancel their bids straight off.


I think it's almost impossible to leave neg feedback for a buyer, or winner now, but long time since i've used ebay.

you cant use negative feedback as a seller only as a buyer, so you have to do it as they have, and write in "complete knob head" - but in the mean time of course, you have been messed about by them as mickdel says cancel their bids

It's unbelieveable you can't leave negative feedback as a seller if the buyer is a time waster.
 
I'd like to see a rival to ebay going back to how ebay used to be! but I fear they are too big now.

I think the change was done because a number of sellers would not leave feedback until the buyer had left positive feedback. This meant that as a buyer, if you left negative feedback you were pretty sure to get negative feedback yourself. Result was that feedback for the seller wasn't a true reflection of their performance. Some sellers stated this in their advert, which at least was honest, but still put me off a bit.

I think they need to move to a system where feedback is held 'in limbo' until both sides have left it. That way it eliminates the tit-for-tat negative feedback, but also encourages people to leave feedback. I've bought a few things from sellers, left feedback, thereby adding to their statistics, but they've not left feedback for me.

say I've got an issue with something I've bought, that ain't resolved amicably with the seller - he knows I'm not going to leave decent feedback (as in, I will leave negative feedback), so avoid getting that on his profile, he just doesn't leave feedback for me. Result is, he has 100% positive feedback (or near as dammit) and we have no idea how many results we never see.

I reckon the whole feedback system is flawed.

Yup, the whole system is flawed. As are most systems which are based on honesty, decency and an ounce of common sense, as shown in the recent Trip Advisor documentary.

I am thinking of writing an ebay dictionary of all the bollocks claims made by sellers. I have spent weeks traipsing round the country looking at one 'good' van after another and had to cancel 3 sales due to the complete and utter misrepresentations made...A little tatty - shows pic of flaking paint on a hinge...err what about the roof which looks like an elephant jumped on it? what about the dreadnought at full chat clouds of smoke? I could go on...
Next weeks little delight will be a trip to Liverpool...funnily enough this guy sounds as honest as the day is long...please God

I second that, you can also get stonking deals on new vans from brokers delivered to your door, my current vivaro was two grand cheaper than the dealer could offer - work that out?

They don't have the overheads of running a showroom!

Didn't take a lot of working out...also they tend to buy batches of overstock and can command a bulk discount...they can be pretty sure they will be able to sell white, blue, black or silver vivaro diesels all day long so can pre order 20 at a time and get them at 'Fleet' prices. They don't usually have the stocking charges associated with trade ins or indeed the premises as GF says, they will have minimal staffing, no requirement to carry a parts stock......Nah...got me baffled ....
