Hard to beat Davida Vacuum Gauges, but expensive. Without doubt the best gauges out there. Not a great fan of the Morgan Carbtune, they have to be held exactly straight upright to read correctly, not always easy to do. They can get a bit sticky over time.

I miss the low down pick up of carbs but I'm glad I've got F.I. now. ;)

I hang mine off the handlebars, gravity does the rest  :lol

Morgan carbtune here. Just hang it from the bars. Bought the 4 channel set, so covers all bases.

I used to hang the set I have from the left bar and or a  cycle stand, appeared to worked fine for a while, but eventuay no 2 would stick. Discussed it with morgane carbtune and still didnt resolve it. Got sick of them and splashed out £135 on the Davida set.Best thing I ever did.

I think they are, I have them over 5 years they are internally damped and definitely well made, the will out last me without doubt.
I had an old cheap set for about 20 years and used to lend to fellows if they needed them, unfortunately at one stage I never got them back.I cannot remember  who I gave them to last and anyone I asked said they had given them back.

Nobody gets the Davida set, if you want a bike checked bring it to me, but they do not leave my place.

Ive found i need to do my FZ6 S2 injected 3 to 4 times a year, idle gets lumpy and the throttle a little snatchy.

I've never tried Davida gauges but don't doubt what unfazed says about quality, since he uses them professionally.

That said, I used Morgan Carbtune gauges on all the Fazers I worked on and must have done 500 plus carb synchs without any of the sticking problems mentioned.  I found the Carbtune more than accurate enough and easy to use, too.

I think you have to ask how many times a year you expect to use whichever gauge you choose to buy and weigh that against the cost and reported durability of each.  For a DIY home mechanic, the Carbtune would be my choice. :)

After years of foccing around with petrol holders of different  I eventually bought a hang up fuel bottle with tap, a great piece of kit, the first few time times I used it  I wondered why I didn't buy one years before.  No more petrol leaking or carbs running out of petrol while balancing them
The folding bicycle stand is great of holding it and the vacuum gauges.

Ogri48, Did the Davidas arrive?

Hi Ogri,
Where do you get your fuel cell from. The only cheap ones I can find will take ages to arrive as from India. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link unfazed. There's a few places doing the Sealey around the 20 quid mark. Really only wanted to spend a tenner, but those ones could take a month or so to get to the UK.

There's plenty on ebay around 7 /10 quid, not sure what the quility is like though

Sealey stuff is usually very good quality and the Sealey Auxiliary fuel tank, hose or tap can won't have any issue with Ethanol  based fuels
