I saw a guy going up the strip in Las Vegas in full leathers. He must have been sweating buckets in there as it was about 100 in the shade. I don't really see the point of a motorbike in US cities as you're not allowed to filter, you might as well drive a car and have the comfort of air con.

I had an issue with mine starting then bogging down and refusing to start for ages. Weirdly it was cured by a new battery. So just for peace of mind try it jump started off a car battery.

I had a garage with an asbestos roof for a few years and kept both cars and bikes in there. Never had a problem with water/condensation/white spots despite it being bloody cold in there.

Riding home on Friday I was following a sports car down the M5. A big sports car in the Aston Martin/Jaguar mould. On the back it said Prototype Vehicle and had the logo below on it which I can't quite identify. Soddit I can't paste an image in. How do I insert a picture from my PC without having to go to the hassle of uploading it to Flickr or whatever?

My helmet and gloves live in the garage along with the bike. Jacket etc in the house. No issues with damp or mould so far but it is a semi detached garage with one wall adjoining the house and the other our neighbour's garage.

Looks like they've been welded but not ground flat afterwards. Personally I'd reweld but make sure there's a flat surface where it meets the rest of the system otherwise the flange is going to be stressed.

Failing that run a wire from the indicator earth back to the battery -ve or to a suitable ground point on the frame. I've done that before to cure these sorts of problems.

Now filled with vinegar for a few days whilst the cleaning fluid rocks up.
Why?

Just seen anorther new 'cillit bang' advert with Barry Scott. Soo annoying "Hi I'm Barry Scott, I've just fucked your wife etc".
What gets me annoyed are these companies that "sponsor" programs. What that means in practice is you get to see an advert for them at the beginning of the ad break, then another one at the end. I get so sick of it that I'm never going to buy Admiral car insurance or what ever that flaming vacuum cleaner bloke is flogging.

Will warn you though it does smell a bit lemon fresh for the first ride or two after haha
I usuaaly use Pledge to wax my bike. Once I grabbed a can and liberally sprayed the bike without looking too closely a the label. It was lavender scented. It's amazing how long the smell remains even after a couple of blasts down the motorway.

Coming back from the MOT on Saturday (passed with only an advisory on lightly scored discs) I passed a gaggle of CBT students being shepherded by an instructor on a boxeye pretty much identical to mine. He didn't seem to want to return my nod of appreciation as I passed him though.

He's worried about the pipes what about the rest of the bike!!!
That did cross my mind as well. I painted my exhaust with black heat resistant paint, I wonder what it will do to that?

I don't know. I've been tempted but the consensus on here is that the beam pattern will be wrong.

There are two problems with 100W headlights a, they're not legal (like anyone cares) and b, the output of the alternator will only just about cope with them and then when you add in the sidelight, tail light and anything else you've got running there's bugger all left to charge the battery.

I had a similar problem with my bike not so long ago. If the engine didn't catch on the first or second press of the starter switch then it would flood and you'd have to wait half an hour for it to clear itself. Weirdly enough a new battery seems to have cured it although I only changed the battery after the bike failed to start at a petrol station (after me having ridden two miles to get to there).
For my bike the starting procedure for a cold engine seems to be Full Choke on, Press starter button and simultaneously wind open the throttle, the bike will rev up so then let go of the throttle, the engine revs up to about 3k rpm then drops down to 750 then bounces back up (to about 3k). Once it's bounced back up the choke can be shut now matter how cold a day it is.

I said don't get me started on HGVs.
sorry just had to get it off my chest
What about trying to climb into your boot when they don't thing you're going fast enough in 40 or 50mph speed limits?
I find the fecking Chelsea Tracktor drivers are the worst for that.
Had a bloke in a van do that to me in a 30mph suburban road. He failed to stop before the white line as he came out of a side road and stopped 3 ft into the carriageway. Then drives right up my arse for a couple of hundred yards jinking to the right to try and see if it's free to overtake. The at the roundabout cuts me up and nearly hits me. When I indicate a tad of frustration by hooting it is apparently me who is in the wrong as he spent 10 minutes chasing me across Birmingham to tell me he could drive right up my arse if he liked and he didn't care where I lived (??????). He did have one of those stupid beards under the chin and no moustache though.

Same here. Someone told my wife you could order stuff online and collect in your local store. None of the local places have that oil and I can't find it on line at Home Bargains either.
I spotted it instore when I was out shopping with the missus & kids, must be a job lot and not a regular stocked item. Might be worth a walk in The actual shop is the company in pic, not to be confused with B&M which is similar.
"None of the local places have that oil" there's a Home Bargains right next door to where my wife works - no luck, nor in Gloucester.
