LED rear light.
« on: 19 July 2015, 01:08:31 pm »
I have got a 2nd hand led rear light to fit to my FZ1, it is made by Powerbronze but I have no fitting instructions so I am unsure as to the correct wiring.
I have tried searching on the net for some but I have drawn a blank, cannot find any on the Powerbronze website either.
There are 3 wires in the centre, black ,blue and yellow .
One yellow wire on the right hand side.
One blue wire on the left hand side.
So five wires in total.
I am not even sure if it is just a rear light or light plus indicators :o
Does anyone have the instructions for the light that they could email me or put them up on here?
Or a photo of the wiring on the bike if you have one fitted.
Also can anyone confirm if it is a light plus indicators or just a light?
Do I need to fit a resistor as it is an led?

I fitted one to my bike but it had a plug fitted. I would say the three wires in the centre are one for tail light, one for stop light and the black is common neutral. The wires on the left and right would be for indicators. I'll see if I can find the instructions for mine.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

Thanks for that info, looks like plug has just been cut off then by the breakers.
Another question, are these lights ok at mot time?

Yes, mine goes through mot's fine. I wouldn't use the indicators though as they are very difficult to see and a vehicle behind may not see them. I have fitted aftermarket led indicators and changed the relay for an led relay rather than fit in-line resistors. Changing the relay is a two minute job, literally.
