Brake calliper question

The blue spots on my calipers have faded ,the question is have any of you painted them as one side is a lighter shade than the other side,what paint did you use?

I'm not sure about painting but i know devilsyam was working on covers for them that tidyed up tatty blue spots,

i believe that they are hard anodized. i also believe that they are removable (they unscrew, there's a tool for sale on ebay i've seen) so could be re-anodized. when i've had quotes for anodizing they've been cheap.

somebody will hopefully confirm what i say, or come on here and rubbish it.
is it clean enough?

Sorry to be the one to rubbish this but my understanding is that the blue inserts are bonded in and removal should NOT be attempted.

that is what i was lead to believe,but doing a search online i have saw 2 posts on 2 different forums that say the blue spots screw inwards not out,BUT on neither forum was there any mention that the blue spots were actualy removed,i suppose the only way to confirm it is to get a knackered caliper and try

I believe Deefer posted recently on this, but can't find it - the gist was that removal should not be attempted, you'll end up with focced calipers.
