Just incase anyone is looking for a 600 headlight upgrade, these are pretty rare and can be modded to run H4 bulbs in both sides.

If anyone wants to buy that unit you should ask if it comes with the original M&H Matsushima bulbs. They are ridiculously good and they're around 50 quid each.

Hmmm, I reckon that's a FZS600 headlight. The unit on the 400s didn't come with the reflector dome thingy on the nearside. Have a feeling that they don't have the little side light on the offside either.

Would be worth double checking with the seller if anybody goes for it.

I thought the same. It may have come from a 400 but is definitely looks like a 600 headlight

Look at the model years, the guy says it's from. 98-01. Yam stopped making the 400 in 98. He's either made a genuine mistake, or he's a lying cnut. Which bit of his advert is wrong, I shall leave to those who have posted above. Just pointing out the impossibility of his advert :))

why does the 400 headlight perform better than the 600? is it just the bulbs or is the headlight unit better as well?

Found this on our old site.
Fazer 400 import headlight unit
a headlight unit from a fazer 400 from Japan
Pros
bolts straight on
looks standard to casual observer
vastly better reflectors (focus and spread)
its duel H4 (or there abouts)
Cons
no sidelight holes (need to be drilled out)
price/availability (pricey and low avilability brand new or really very rare second hand)
cost
H4 bulbs do not fit, technicly needs different bulbs but can be made to by removing two of the locating pins
Cost
230 brand new or i got mine for 60 second hand (very cheap)
