I've had mine from new, and never had an issue with temp - the fan is only needed on hot days if you're doing a lot of sitting in heavy traffic. Its probably only come on 3 or 4 times. There is a "too hot" idiot light at the upper end of the tacho (just below the 15 IIRC), and I've never seen that come on.

Moral is - ride more, worry less, its not a problem :thumbup

Most people find the over-temperature light only ever comes on when riding in heavy rain: not 'cos the engine's too hot, but the sensor terminal isn't well insulated so gives misleading results when wet.
Additionally, the sensor is mounted in the wrong place: it's not measuring engine temperature but that of the coolant. The most common reason for a Fazer to overheat is loss of coolant (usually due to a leaking radiator). The thermostat housing (where the sensor is) is at the top of the coolant circuit so stays cool as the engine cooks.
So the light on the console is best regarded as a guide to the weather, it's feck all use for anything else. :D

i know you mean coolant temp, but if you look on banditrob12's ebay shop, he has a nifty little engine temp gauge. worth getting if you worry about these things.

or if you want to know the oil temp, you can get a temp gauge that replaces you oil filler cap.

Like richfzs said don't worry about it.
I've had mine for over 2 years now and the fan has only come on once and that was sitting in the ride of respect in heavy traffic.
My stealer said the fan comes on at 98 degrees apparently.
Oh yeah and sod the weather just ride it. ;)
