Sold
Pair of Givi E36 panniers. Bought new by me, all original keys, one has a scrape on the corner and a few normal pannier marks otherwise they are fine and work perfectly. Will not post due to cost and size.. Tried to upload more pics. but unsuccessful, will e mail them if anyone interested. The scrape is visible on the left pannier, bottom right.

My 2002 Foxeye came with a double bubble screen but if I stand up riding the wind noise decreases. Has any one swapped from a double bubble to a standard and did it reduce wind noise, I'm 5'10" with shortish legs and a longish body. Cheers Carl

If you are going camping for a good few days, have a b&b, hotel etc stop in the middle.

This bolt is sheared flush unfortunately, going to have to use some drilling 'expertise' I reckon.

758's are a good choice most seem to go with. I fitted them last year, very pleased with them, better handing. All controls fit and as said you can tap out ends to take standard or after market end weights.
No need to drill bar just tap out. 16mmx1.5 pitch You will need to drill a hole in the right place for each control or file nib off controls and use tape. I drilled holes so no chance of slip when glue on tape gets hot, but no one seems to have problems with tape.
Dustydes, did you have to coarse cut then fine cut the thread on the bars or just the fine, I can get a fine for £4 but a set for £14, wouldn't contemplate not doing a coarse if it was steel but it's girly alloy. Ordered the ultra lows working on the assumption that everyone else can't be wrong. Cheers Carl

Thanks for the info. fellas, as luck would have it it's the easiest bolt so hopefully I can get it in situ, assuming that the others come out, just need some quality cobalt drills, if I remember from my sheet metal days jobber make good stuff so will get a few of them. Does the Gen. 1 1000 have the same nut shearing problems as the 600 when taking off the downpipes ? Mine are in lovely nick as the bike has had a sheltered life so don't foresee any problems. Cheers Carl

Done a bit of research and it seems that Givi and Kappa are interchangeable, is it still for sale ? Think Watto might have beaten me to it.

Having a good look round my newly acquired Gen 1 and one of the bolts holding the Exup cover is sheared . Can anyone tell me the depth of the hole and the bolt size. I'm a bit reticent to take out the other 2 as it is working fine, though will have to at some point. Is there a standard way of bolt removal, ie heating up the casing and regular applications of WD 40, or is down to luck, I know this has been covered a few times but there may be a standard way now .CheersCarl

Don't suppose you want to sell the crash mushrooms, bars ( which ones are they ?), givi arms and mount (not the box) separately ? Would need to be posted. Might be interested in the can as well depending on which one it is. And the rad guard, like that design better than their new one.
Cheers.
Carl.

Nothing to do with me but there is what looks (as far as you can tell from photos) to be a nice Gen. 1 1000 for sale in Crook, County Durham, (that's up north for you southern chaps). Silver, 18k miles £2500 (reduced from 2650) . Check out gumtree for details. Repeating myself here but I don't know the seller and I've never seen the bike in the flesh so it may be a heap, but it looks alright. Please don't ask me to put a link to it, I still struggle with toasters !

I would reccomend you get the longest of the two varieties of chinese levers that are generally on offer. I can't help feeling that some of the riders who favour short levers are the same people who never practise emergency stops from speed, on a heavy old lump like the Fazer with 15 year old calipers it is so much more difficult using two fingers rather than four. The brakes on the Gen 1 are good, but nothing like modern stuff where two fingered braking is pretty easy. I'm sure there are people here who do just fine (probably a lot younger than me!) with short levers on a Gen 1 but if you haven't tried a hard stop with the shorty levers i would give it a try just to make sure.
I've ordered the long set, the oe levers feel natural with their length so have tried to stay as close to original as possible. All down to the Chinese post office now.

My Border owns a bike owning bloke . Looks like they are the same 'colour scheme' Hamish and Woody. I think looking miserable is a Border's favourite hobby, I walk my little mate for at least 2 hours through the countryside every day I'm off and he still looks at me like I do nothing with him. Wrapped round his little paw alright.
