I did a 200 mile round trip to look at a 52 plate Fazer 1000 at a second hand dealers in Harpenden which he'd described to me as in excellent condition, 15,000 miles, two owners from new. They hadn't even bothered to wash it properly the back wheel was still filthy, it had been down on it's right hand side, small dent in the left hand side of the tank and every single nut and bolt on it was rusty. This hadn't really shown up in the photos he'd sent, which appeared to have been taken using the estate agents book of photography. For sale at £2650 but he'd take £2500 for it, not off me he wouldn't.
I know at £2800 I paid over the odds for the 51 plate bike I bought only from photos from Nightingales of Rugby but the bike was one owner 17,000 miles from new and more importantly was exactly as described, immaculate. Even under the engine, main stand, rear shock etc. all immaculately clean. Gavin at Nightingales told me I wouldn't be disappointed and he was right. I know I'll get flamed for the price I paid but I'm happy with it which is what counts. :)
Paying a few extra quid in the grand scheme of things is nothing really. If you keep the bike for 5 years and paid an extra £500 it's a extra £2 a week for a bike worth having. Enjoy your new bike mate, looking forward to getting mine next week.

Honestly mate I couldn't do a link if my life depended on it but if you go onto the Pre- loved website and put Fazer into the search box you should find it, advert is 3 days old according to the details.
Cheers

I've got a wingrack plus fitting kit for my Foxeye, in an ideal world this will fit but I've seen very few pictures on t'internet of 1000s with a wingrack. The removable Motech system looks good but expensive, especially if I can alter what's in the garage. I like where the indicators are mounted on the Motech, look a lot neater

Hope the bike works out ok mate, nicely done :-)
Never bought a bike unseen so I hope so, normally I climb all over them with a torch and a multimeter then have a think so it's a first for me. Chatting to Owen in the shop he seemed like a straight forward guy and all the photos he sent backed up what he said so not losing any sleep. Just need luggage racks, hugger, screen, scotoiler, fenda extenda and some of that tax and insurance stuff now, and weather, it's a bit grim in the North East at the moment.

I had a 350F1 I think it was called, first of the faired powervalves, which I hurtled round the roads of Cornwall when I worked down in Helston, happy days. Probably worth more than my Blade now.

Ain't it marvellous? When I wanted a clean late fazer thou with black engine/ frame took ages to find one. Ended up having to go to Kent when one finally came up. Went to a little bike shop in the town a mile away from where I live on Saturday to get some comp 4 to do an oil change on the zzr and he's got a one owner Gen one thou, good as new,red with black engine/ frame and only 11k on the clock for 2800. The sorta thing you see on ebay at bigger dealers for anything from 3800 to 4800. Looks like it's never seen rain, headers and front of lump are spotless, as is the bike. Shop is " biker dean" in coleford, Gloucester
hello Ogri, how nice is it, what would you give it out of 10, Cheers Carl

Was it this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FAZER-1000-/142277803880?hash=item21206aff68:g:VnsAAOSwtfhYob4jIt's blue S variant £3K ish and tyres look a bit worn and it's up north and doesn't look the cleanest Not sure but if the fairing says FZ1 over it would that be a US import ?? I think that was up for sale when I was looking for mine last year , I remember it as I was in the Lake District on holiday and thought about looking at it but I really wanted silver( I thought a blue 600 and blue 1000 was a bit too blue !!! )  so I decided against it

Yeah that's the one. The tyres look like they have been on a track. Probably a US import as you noticed as it's got side reflectors as well as the FZ1 decals. Apart from minor cosmetics I think the bikes are the same though, asked the question on here. Anyone in the North East got an immaculate, low mileage late Gen 1 I should be posting.. If I could get one as nice as my 600 I'd be happy.

Saw a what looked like a beauty in Bury Motorcycles, it went straight away before I got the chance to speak to the shop. The hunt for a late, low miles beauty continues, my little Foxeye for company so not so bad.

Not computer savvy enough to do a link but it's blue with a black engine , is nearly £3 k  and it's 'up north'. It's very possibly a great bike under the grime and under engine surface corrosion but not risking my hard earned spondoolies.

100 mile round trip to look at a 'clean standard' fazer thou. Hadn't been washed for a year I reckon and completely shot tyres. There goes another £20 worth of juice and a morning of my time. E bay should let you mark people on the accuracy of their adverts.  I hope the guy updates his advert to save a few more wasted journeys.

Done a bit of digging and it was originally registered near Peterborough., number plate AE****, I wonder if one of the bigger shops there imported a few.

Gents
Looking at an 05 thou for sale with FZ1 on the fairing, not Fazer. I'm sure that I read somewhere that this was the American model, does that mean it is restricted or different in any way other than cosmetics ?
Cheers

For Sale & Wanted / Re: Any 600's out there

Did you get one ? 2002 Blue Foxeye in County Durham. Very briefly 18k, needs nothing, sensible extras, £1350 fixed price. Not advertised elsewhere as I'm not bothered about selling but should've bought a 1000 as originally planned (not had it long, bought off a mate who had a hole in his roof !). Drop me a line if you want full details or pictures.
Cheers

FZS600 Fazer / Re: 16 t Front Sprocket
« on: 25 December 2016, 03:27:33 pm »
I'm used to bigger engined bikes which are less revvy. Don't spend a lot of time in traffic so I reckon slightly higher gearing will be an improvement, I think the bike has enough poke to handle it.

FZS600 Fazer / 16 t Front Sprocket
« on: 24 December 2016, 03:58:25 pm »
I'm going to change my front sprocket for a 16t one. Any makes recommended or any bad experiences with certain types. I've read that if the sprocket is harder than the shaft it will wear the shaft and would rather this didn't happen (obviously ).
Happy Xmas
Cheers
Carl
