FZS600 Fazer / Re: nose fairing

Cheers Arfa, will try my local dealer and let you know how I go with stickers - one place I've used before is Sunrise Graphics. Not checked them for this but they did perfect side panel decals for Liz's VF 750 when I got that re-painted. They'd be worth a try for the Fazer.

Hi Mark - I'm new here too, but being the same age as you, I'm definitely not OLD  :) :)

Hope you enjoy the bike.

Cheers.

Harry - I might have some gear that would suit you, if you're not already fixed up.

I have a Scott leather Jacket and Skintanz leather dungarees which we got for my 9 year old a few years ago.

He's wearing them in this pic (on touring hol in Europe with his mum) - let me know if you're interested.

Yep, repair price sounds about right. I presume that includes a respray after repair?

However, I just replace a 2003 fox eye fairing on mine, paid £180 for genuine one, full painted. The older square eye fair is a spot more, £210-220 ish. Note that doesn't include stickers or front badge.  Pair of stickers come in at the bargain price of £70...

Now, TBH, that's still a pretty good deal, Yammy used to charge £450 odd for the front cowling until last month!
A knock off fibre glass fairing will cost you about £120. However a decent spray job on that will set you back a further £100 odd.

If you decide to street fighter the bike and lose the fairing, you're gonna have to fork out some cash for replacement headlights and a tidier mount for clocks etc. Probably ain't gonna work out much cheaper TBH.

So, ultimately the best/cheapest plan is to phone your local Yammy dealer and order a new fairing sprayed to match. Then swap it over yourself (dead easy, 1-2 hr job).

Hi Arfa - where did you buy your painted fox-eye fairing ? I need one. As I work for a graphics company I'll see what our boys can do to replicate the stickers.

Cheers.

For Sale & Wanted / Wanted -2003 FZS 600 Fairing (silver if poss)

Morning all,

I'm looking for a fairing for my son's Fazer 600 (2003) - preferably perfect, in silver, but realistically, anything without cracks will do as I'm happy to get one re-painted to original silver.

Anyone know of anything ?

Morning All,

Just a quick intro hello - although I don't own a Fazer "personally" (I have a FJ 1200 and an Aprilia RSV) I'm still a big fan, having bought a Fazer 1000 for my wife and a Fazer 600 for my son.

The 1000 was bought in 2003 and is in superb shape. It's been toured extensively, Liz has done few laps of the Nurburgring on it and she used it for work when she was bike instructing, as well as being just her pleasure riding toy.

This is the 600 I bought for my son when he passed his test 2 years ago (as he was only just over 17, it had to be restricted to 33bhp - but, today he rode it for the first time in full power mode)  :)

We were very lucky with this one, having bought it from our best friends in as-new condition, even at 9 years old (but only 10k miles). I fitted the rack and then put his mums top box on it (for carrying things to school) and the exhaust can (to save the original).

Great bikes.

The 600 had a low speed tumble on the left last year (early/young rider silly tip-off) which put some minor scratches on it, but nothing serious - just to keep it in top nick, I'll be looking for some replacement parts.

Cheers.
