FZS600 Fazer / Ordered a rear caliper fzs 1000
« on: 06 January 2014, 11:52:01 pm »
Hi I just ordered a rear caliper off a Fazer 1000 and am wondering if anyone here knows which brake pads to go for as I have seen several shapes when looking.
This is the one I have ordered if that helps and they have one left if anyone else is looking to upgrade.

FZS600 Fazer / Who would have thought, lights again
« on: 01 January 2013, 02:04:20 pm »
Hi I updated my lights on my fzs 600 98 yesterday to Philips night breakers only to find that my near side light has been exchanged for a h4 so I have h4 on both sides.  Now the bulb on that side that I just replaced was a 35w and the night breaker is 55w and it only comes on as full beam which I think I hadn't noticed due to the lower wattage of the other bulb. Does anyone else have this and or know if it will put too much load on the battery and wether there is something I can do to make dip and full work properly. Oh last but not least is it legal?
Cheers

Edit: sorry they are Philips xtreme vision not night breakers

« on: 29 August 2012, 12:38:06 am »
Hi im getting nonstop earache from the wife about her pillion position and need to get hold of extended footpegs for her.  Im about as usefull as a chocolate teapot when it comes to making things so could really do with buying some.  I know it's a long shot but if anyone has any lying around or would be willing to make some all expenses paid and labour please let me know and we can sort something out. I have a 1998 fzs 600.

Front page / Motorcyclists matter petition

Not sure if this has been posted but found it today. It's a petition to get motorcycle awareness questions made mandatory on theory tests for new drivers. Probably won't stop you getting hit by a pimped up nova but it all helps.

FZS600 Fazer / Can't see behind me
« on: 19 March 2012, 11:43:05 pm »
Hi
Just wondering if anybody knows of good replacement mirrors for 98 fzs as I can't see a bloody thing behind me. Also am I able to replace them with mirrors from a later model or are they model specific?
Thanks for your help
John

Introduction / Just passed the test
« on: 22 February 2012, 10:45:29 pm »
Hi I finally got round to passing my test last week having ridden a few little bikes for 4 years, firstly a gp100 which I ran out of oil twice!! Which liked it the first time but died the second (rip my friend) then on to a cb100 which although I maintained a lot better was stolen and when returned was painted white (so badly it had the fingerprint of the thieving bastard clearly visible on the tank) wasn't too disheartened though as wouldn't go above 40 without shaking and the throttle would stick wide open whenever it got cold. So I picked up a gilera coguar cruiser, big mistake, through all the other 2 bikes short comings they were forgivable as the were both older than me at 26 and 28 years old. The gilera though was 10 years old and rotted whenever the clouds came out. The electrics were a joke with the ignition failing every other day and having to bump start whenever the temperature dropped to less than 10 degrees.
So having the test in sight I picked up a fazer 600 on a 98 plate 28000 miles and in almost perfect condition. The only fault is the front fairing is cracked from previous owners drop. Anyone who has a black 98 front going please let me know.  :D   I have been riding it now for 2 weeks and I love it. It's so much fun. I'm just getting used to not having to rev the tits off it to make it move aka every other bike I've owned.  Always get home with a massive smile on my face. Happy to have stumbled on this site as it has already answered many questions so thanks for the help already
John
