help please new rubber time :o :( any advice im looking at bridgestone bt021

Too soft the BT021 go for the ST023 or maxxis diamonds.

I am running on Pirelli Angel ST's I know they have been replaced by the GT's now but nothing wrong with them and maybe able to get a decent price.

I was going to say it's hard to buy a bad tyre these days, unless of course you get a BT 21.
M5/angels/T20/Zealand all much of a muchness. Depends on if there is a deal on!

the fzs1000 i just bought have the BT21s and the front is showing some funny lines on it already and the back is way to soft and after yesterdays ride it looks like its melting and thats not from me riding to fast trust me :lol

Bt21's are a bit rubbish. When they wear, they're terrible, especially the front one. I wouldn't even buy them if they were cheap!

I changed from bridgestone to maxxis super diamond, I think they handle better do more miles and are less expensive, this is on my FZ6, dont know what they are like on a thou'

My rear michelin pilot road 3 is coming to the end, and although the front is still very good I'm thinking of changing for a pair of angel st's. They are £149 a pair at the moment and I loved them on my previous 1000cc bike. They felt like they gave more feedback and certainly heat up quicker than the PR3's.

BT021 are effectivly obsolete, having been replaced 4 times. The short lived 022, the otherwise excellent 023, and most recently by the outstanding BT30. They were a very good tyre in their day, but unless you are getting them for an excelent price, I would look at more modern rubber.

I've just put a set of PR4s on, only really done about 50 miles them in so can't comment long term on them. But they feel great do far. Was £235 for the pair though.

I wouldn't use 021's if I was paid to. And I love and always buy Bridgestone tyres. 023's all the way. I'm on my fourth set, 2 on my Fazer and I had 2 sets on my FireBlade and with no complaints.

A bit extreme perhaps? 021's were bloody good tyres in their day. 023's are better and T30's are considerably better still, but that doesn't take away the fact that 021's were very good.

I used 020's for years, and loved them. The 021 was a poor replacement in comparison imho. The front tyre wears abnormally, hence why Bridgestone probably replaced them so quickly. Too many complaints from users.
At first they're as grippy wet/dry as the next tyre, it's when they go off, and they really go off quickly. Had a few pairs of them on various bikes I've bought, and its been the same on all of them.

Done 2000 miles in 5 weeks on a new set of pr4s and they inspire confidence in all weathers and they havent worn much either

And not forgetting that Ron Haslam uses 023's on his race school bikes. Or did do.

Road smart 3 are good

Going with a rear pilot road 4 now after reading the blurb. Hard compound in the middle and medium on the outside should help reduce squaring off on my motorway trips to norfolk. Only £10 more than the PR3, so may aswell go with the latest tyre.
