Hi All
It recently occurred to me that my set of throttle cables must be the originals (I have done 42 out of the 50K miles currently showing on my clock and never changed them).
Question: Since my cables may be 14 years and 50K miles old, should I expect them to fail at some point now? What are other riders' experiences? I would carry a spare set but have been told they are expensive - as is a genuine Yam clutch cable.
Over the years I have experienced a few snapped cables in my time on other bikes; I'm amazed the ones I have on the Fazer have lasted this long to be honest. They do however, 'feel' ok - i.e. they open and shut freely with no sign of sticking.
Any views?
