« on: 24 March 2013, 06:27:59 pm »
I prefer tall flip screen because I like the more up right riding position but when on the tank I hit my helmet on it where as with the double bubble tends to be better for when I is on the tank.

I is only 5.9 and most of my riding is touring. Even on short journeys on the Gladius wind on the motorways can get tiring but I is an old man.

No more night shifts for me. But now on splits so start at 0700 finish at 1300 then back on from any where between 1530 to 1800 until 2200, with 7 on 2 off then 2 on 3 off. I is a royal bottom wiper in the community now. But due to pattern it can get a little tiring at times as I is also on call.

I wear Oakley Flack Jacket's that I have not had a problem with any helmets, Arai and Shoie. You need to know your prescription if your opticians don't deal in Oakley and do a search on goggle. They are not cheep but the best I have ever had for riding.

Who declares a bike to be classic?

Is it the individual who spends all their spare time tinkering in the shed with it and polishes it more than ride it, then pulls the tarpaulin of it at every chance to an adoring like minded person who dribbles at the site of an immaculate machine.

Or

Does someone in authority of supreme knowledge suddenly wakes one day with a thought of declare it so.

I love my Fazer and its a classic to me

Ok I love my fazer too but it's for riding and riding hard not dribbling over, all that saliva cant be good for the electrics anyhoo.

:lol  Thats tickled me and this is where mine is today as mother nature hates not only me but all bikers.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: DIGI Wiring Help
« on: 16 March 2013, 09:27:23 pm »
OK fitted Digi today and all seems to be working. Although I do find the Digi a little slow in reacting to the gear I am in on changing up and especially if down by 2 gears. If like my bike the speed sensor is on the front wheel you need to ride the bike to programme the Digi. You need a long road as I needed to move some where longer than I originally thought.

Before I replaced the fairing I ensured that the wiring was coverd compleatly with rubber tape to waterproof it then a top layer of electrical tape to secure and Isolate the wires.

All my wires had a green bands on that I ignored. I tookit  as a way for the manufactores to identfy the correct wiring loom for the year of my bike 2003.

Photos not to clear and I left to do a coffee while numb nuts burnt my pegs.

You can get the programming guide and matrix wiring for diffrent bikes in the download section.

Updated Colours for Fazer600 2003 *IMPORTANT Check with your book on the colours as there is 2 browns and 2  yellow and blacks. Check which is the dominant colour.

Why d'ya need this?

Got lazy with the Gladius but found it useful when at lights in traffic. I wear ear plugs as the hearing I have left I is attached to. At the end of the day its another aid or toy depending on your point of view.

The job is on.

Come Saturday I will be fitting the Digi after its MOT (just in-case I mess things up) The programming may have to wait as it is dependent on the weather due to the fact that I will have to recruit numb nuts and convince him to go 2up as I my speed sensor is on the front wheel. If the garage doing the MOT has a rolling road I is going to try and blag a free use off it to programme the Digi due to the fact numb nuts wants to fit a Digi to his bike while he is friend of the garage and has only offered to help to see if I know what I is doing to fit one to his R1.

No mate. I learnt everything from my car, most important thing is a quick wash/rinse down if roads are salted. I am going trying a new product to me scottoiler FS365 as my pride and joy has to be stored outside now.

I have been trying to find out if I can treat the bike annually with ACF-50 and use FS365 in between  without risk of damaging the bike but it looks like I will have to let you know in 12 months time.

Hi Fizzy Pies
Yes I see the the Black now you have pointed it out. Still unsure about the live but will put a meter onto it to figure it out but with what I see is the light brown powers constant live feeds for the meeters and nutral light where the ignition switch and nutral light are turned on when operating the connection to the earth.
Your spot on with the speed sensor. I was thinking of employing my Bros son (aka numb nuts) as test pilot while I sit enjoy a cuppa while programming.

FZS600 Fazer / DIGI Wiring Help
« on: 13 March 2013, 09:21:49 pm »
Just wondered if anyone has fitted a Datatool DIGI Gear Indicator to their Fazer. The wiring on the 02 to 03 is different to earlier models. Below is what I know and have gained info through Datatool/Scorpion but due to differences in models I want to play on the safe side before I start to butcher electrics.
