I have leaking forks between the slider and the aluminium lower section. I have bought some new oil seals, dust covers and lower bushes. My dealer tells me the upper bushes hardly ever wear out. This will save me £28 plus postage. What do the experts think on here? The bike has done 30k miles Thanks

Lets be honest, a centre stand is not a lot of money

DJDLTD - I went through your videos and it seems like I will be ordering your dash soon :-)
Go for it, they are very good and so easy to read

They can be straightened. I put the shaft of mine is a drill at very low speed and I could see how bent it was. Slow tugs on the valve will straighten, take your time!

How much do you want for the front fairing?

I ran a strip of LED lights around the edge of the gauges. It worked quite well.

I did the same, bought a Gen 1 in Red. Couldn't see the issues at the time, I was smitten by the bike. I've now replaced a lot of stuff, cleaned a lost of stuff and I still have leaking forks to sort out. I notice my header bolts are badly corroded so without doubt they will snap if I try to undo them. This is on a 30k bike. My main bike is a Gen 1 with 112k on it and overall its finish is much better.

Probably needs the chain adjusting correctly. Check the manual. It would also be a good idea to lubricate the linkages.

I have a 2004 and a 2005. Both have no information on the V5. Then information TFL need is on the cert of conformity. Once you have this you can apply for indemnity. Its a bit of hassle but will save a lot of money if you need to enter the ULEZ regularly. Both my bikes have NOs readings below the required level and so get in free.

The nut inside in the forks to hold the damper rod when opening the bottom bolt is 26mm.I used a a 3/8drive 26mm socket duct taped to the end of an vacuum cleaner tube to hold it while undoing the bolt
I watched a couple of videos on how to do this job and don't quite understand your statement above. There is a bolt head up through the bottom of the suspension leg. Are you saying there is a nut on the other side of this? The main video I watched was from Dels Garage and his leg had a cartridge in it, maybe that was the difference? There was certainly no nut on the inside of that leg that needed to be retrieved.

I noticed today that one of the forks on my 05 Gen1 is leaking from the seal at the top of the leg. The bike has covered £32k miles. It would make sense to me to change the seals on both legs. Obviously change the oil. Is there anything else I need to change/check at the same time?
Where is the best place to buy the new parts? What is the best grade oil to buy and how much do I need?
Thanks

I've got two Fazers and only ever seem to use one of them. When I need to use the other one because something has broken on my 'main' one I find I haven't bothered to tax/MOT/insure the second one so cant use it anyway.

The engine in my Gen 1misses quite a lot when its raining hard. I think I need to cut the HT leads down and make a new joint. Am I right I need to unscrew the lead from the cap. cut 5mm or so off and refix
I don't think it can be much else, if I spray with WD45 before I leave the bike behaves much better.
Thanks

I probably have some silver ones. They will have some marks on them but they are the original bars. Let me know if you want to look for them.
