GoPro video of some fastish riding on a FZS600!
« on: 06 May 2016, 09:30:16 pm »
I went for a nice ride yesterday evening with my new GoPro, put a windslayer foam sock over it to capture some nice exhaust noise.

Took my top box so I could do my weeks shopping after!

I actually captured the view from behind which was actually quite interesting, and gave a better exhaust noise I think.

Is it me or has the OP a fear of leaning the bike over...................

That's the A252 from Challock towards Canterbury, isn't it?  It's Dazza's favourite road, we went down there (and back) last Thursday during our ride to Headcorn.

Where abouts are you based Pike?  You should come out with us and the LOFOs at some point.

It's you Dazza (Corporal Jones) - the bike leans but Pike didn't panic...just keeps his head fixed and focused like a Peregrine Falcon
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

I'd had a few beers when I posted last night, looking at it this morning I think its the road not his ability to corner, you'd be doing some silly speeds around those curves to get the bike leaned over.

As for the view from behind. I sometimes look in my rear view mirror exiting turns, obviously checking the road ahead first, amazing how quick a corner disappears behind you when you open the throttle.

Yeah that's it! I'm in Canterbury at the moment (Student at University of Kent), but in few weeks I'll be moving towards Silverstone. Are LOFOs Kent based?

My suspension can't take corners much faster than that, the front goes wide, ties itself in knots and then the rear does too. Don't think the fork oil has ever been changed before (I'm at 18k) Getting 15wt fork oil in soon and got a R6 shock from Kebab to put on.

I wasn't hanging off the bike at all, just sitting up straight and leveraging the bars.

If you're based in Canterbury, have you done the Wingham bends yet?  They are a must before you leave for Silverstone.

LOFO stands for London Fazer Owners although in reality I don't think any of us actually live in London, it's just a collection of chaps from anywhere roughly around London (all sides) but Noggy, Cosmic and Hedgetrimmer are all LOFOs and they live in Wales, Suffolk and Cumbria respectively  :rollin

Ah I see haha, I'm actually from Wales too. I really miss having so many incredible roads all around me.

It's on the B2046 from Wingham to Womenswold.

I did it yesterday and filmed a bit, also saw a Kawasaki H2!

I woke up yesterday to find that bird shit on my bike and worse, my bike stank of fox piss. Right after this ride I went to a car wash and sorted it all out.

I could smell the fox piss at 50mph!

You're right Mr Locksmith, not the bendiest of roads but they are fairly fast flowing.  It's been known as the Wingham bends for donkeys years.

Yeah I was surprised, looked at the road from google maps and it looked dead straight.

Definitely fast flowing, view around corners isn't too bad.

It's straight enough to overtake traffic frequently though. Road surface is the Kent standard, mid corner bumps (as you can see in the video).

The roads all over Kent are seriously turning to shite, so bumpy and my feet came off the pegs on Sunday due to a pot hole in the middle of the road!!
