you (not so) fat bastard!
« on: 04 February 2016, 05:03:37 pm »
Decided to lose a bit of weight this year so have joined a gym. They offer a personalised appraisal of just how unhealthy you are and suggest a way of achieving your goals. So anyway I had my MOT  today and my BMI says I'm verging on morbidly obese, however I only have 16% body fat which for someone my age is right at the bottom of the healthy range.
RHR of 50 and a recovery time of 2 mins from 75% mhr.
Apparently I just need to stop being so lazy.
30lbs to go.

Get out on your motorbike more , it's the equivalent of going for a brisk walk , and it's great for forgetting all your troubles and focusing on now , and it makes you feel good as does male bonding so go on more group rides .

They opened up a large 24hr gym just over a year ago right on the corner of the road that i live on.

I walk past it on the way to the pub.  :b

I've been on a diet for 3 years now, got my BMI down from obese to 24.4, you have to stay on a diet or you just return to what you were, not doing much walking ect due to aching joints, so it's just eating less or more of the green stuff?

Seriously, it's about 100 metres from my house, i have to endure people jogging on the machines looking at me through the window as i cut through the little car park when going for a few jars.  :lol

Yes well done SLG! I've got a gym membership that I started last summer, I did well for about 3 months but I got fed up with the cardio/hamster wheel type activities and started to lift weights I got very strong but I also got really fat! I'm lucky if I go once a week now  :\  I suppose I should chuck it and find something else.

Just joined new gym that's opened near me. They must have a sense of humour as it's literally next door to a Greggs factory!!!!!!!!!

Literally, I'm not kidding. You could spit from the gym car park onto Greggs property. When the wind's blowing in the right direction you
get the aroma of do'nuts, yum yums and bread floating across the place. Don't know how the chubsters don't get together and ram the
door to be honest.

foccin' hell!  :eek  I bet it's took a small herd of cattle hides to make that one piece, he didn't let the beef go to waste either!
Fair play to him for having a go.

Well done SLG. I've been doing Slimming World since just before Christmas and have so far lost just over 2 Stones. I've even managed to get my 1 piece leathers on, which haven't been on me for over 10 years. I'm doing a track day at the end of the month so lose the podge. No way was I going to buy a bigger set.
All the best with the weight loss
