Last week I went for my annual surfing and biking holiday in North Devon. The weather was great on the Monday for the ride down, but after that it was miserable for most of the rest of the week
Fortunately it cleared up on the Friday afternoon so I got to go up the A39 from Barnstaple to Minehead and then back across Exmoor which is a lovely ride and some beautiful scenery.
Coming back on the Monday, because the weather was crap again, I decided to skip the twisty roads and use the A303.
Big mistake! Traffic was jammed up for miles (I passed at least two accidents), idiots who wouldn't move over to let me filter past on solid white lines, one pillock who deliberately moved over to block me from filtering (leaving a nice gap on the nearside which I took and then gave him a big wave as I left him there
)...
Eventually, when I got to near Salisbury, I cut off down the A361 which had a lot less traffic on, but all in all, it wasn't much fun
