Hello. I have my FZ1 2004 from one month. I have tyres Dunlop Qualifier. I am not quite happy with them.[/size]Before i was ridding YZF600R for 6 years. I have on her Metzeller Sportec m1 - one set, M3 - one set, M5 two sets. I love them all and M5 are my favorites on YZF600r.Now i want to have the same confidence on my new FZ1. I ride quite agressive so i need grip. Also tyres must be good on rain and on dusty roads. Please tell me how good are Metzeler Z8, Metzeler M5 and Michelin PR3 on ZF1?For an agressive rider?Sorry for my bad english.

welcome.
i have M5 on my bike and am very happy with them so far.
Z8 is a more tourer biased tyre and the PR3 again is more mileage than grip (but a good tyre nonetheless, so i'm told)
these days most of the tyres are so good it's hard to buy a bad one (BT21's excepted)

M5 interact (on a FZS600 though). VERY grippy, very nice tyres.
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.

As long as your not looking to take the bike to extremes the Michelin pilot road 3 sd2's on mine have transformed the bikes handling without the need to buy expensive and unnecessary exotic race rubber. A tyre for all seasons, wet weather grip is excellent. what else does one need ?  :D

hmmm. i love M5 on my old YFZ600R. i asked for Z8 and PR3 because i heard that have better mileage.
for me grip on dry and on wet road are most important. i am not a racer, but i drive very impulsive sometimes, when i find a twistie road. and on higway i try topspeed every time.
if Z8 or PR3 have the grip near to M5, i will buy one of them, for better mileage. if not, i will buy M5.

M5 are a great tyre in all conditions and great feel from them, but the rear was gone in 2500 miles (almost to the canvas). Z8 felt very similar with double the mileage.
Difficult to call between the Z8 and PR3 and is probably down to a personal choice, the Z8 looks sportier :) I have PR3 on the Gen 1 at present and I think the rear moves around a little more than the Z8 or maybe I am just getting more used to it and pushing it more :lol

I bought my gen 1 around a month ago and the bike came with Metzeler Race Tek K2's, bloody sticky things they are, not too sure what they'll be like in the wet and in all fairness I'm thinking about changing them pretty soon even though they still have life left in them.

I like bikes....ALOT!!

Pilot Road 3's on our 2001 Fazer 1000 - no complaints whatsoever. They've done mostly touring or commuting miles (wife used it when she was instructing) in all weathers, but worked perfectly well when we took the bike on track (only about 50 miles worth of track time though).
