Ivanised Detection
« on: 24 February 2014, 01:49:25 pm »
Now, according to the previous owner, my gen 1 has been Invanised... I'm fairly sure at the time he said it was the full monty, but my memory isn't fantastic

So, with that in mind, is there a simple way I can check for myself to see if it has been Invanised and to determine if it was the fully monty or just the slip-on?

Apologies if covered in another thread. I couldn't find a dedicated thread for this particular question and searching for invanising in general provides a plethora of results :(

The full monty includes a modification to the air filter case cover (amongst other things).  Remove that and see if the centre pipe section has been cut away, I guess that would be the easiest way to see if anything has been done in that regard.

You mean 'Ivanised', of course. ;)

Yes, Full Monty involves airbox lid mod so that would be an obvious clue.  If you're still unsure, you'd need to take the top off one of the carbs to check which needles are fitted.

Mike, do you keep any sort of record as to the bikes you upgrade? More of a curiosity thing

No, unfortunately I don't.  If I'd known when I started how many I'd end up doing, I would have.

If you have the name of the previous owner, though, I might be able to track back from that.
