Hey from a London-based Noob
« on: 25 April 2012, 11:50:07 am »
So, I'm Brad and a fortnight ago I passed my mod two.
Saturday gone I traded in my YZF R125 for an '06 FZ6, which some nice person had kindly put a pair of Scorpion cans on for me.

I am suitably impressed  :D
Are any of you lot around the London area and feel like showing a newbie the ropes?

I'm living in Brixton, but it's halfway up the hill to Streatham.

That said, I lived in Leeds for five years and Manchester for three, so I'm a northerner at heart. Many fond memories of bombing down snake pass in a Ford Capri.

Ta! I work in the city so I get to ride around elephant and castle and its heaving masses of suicidal cyclists every morning. Where are the good A-roads in and around London. Meant to get out on my 125, but only had it for three months.

How do you find the Superduke? I was looking at the  Adventure (Planning on disappearing for a year at some point), but the insurance was insane.

The SD is the best bike ever, the Adventure is pretty awesome as well - but, like you say, both are a bit pricey...

Well, if I'm brutally honest I was on the verge of buying a Tiger 800 XC, when I decided on getting something a little cheaper for my first big bike, but I decided I didn't want to whack nine grand on something right off the bat. Defo not disappointed. Love the FZ6, but the gearbox is like kicking a bag of spanners
