FZS600 Fazer / Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today
« on: 29 August 2015, 04:02:42 pm »
Today I changed the new uprated front sprocket nut and bendy washer thing. Being proactive inal, I've done it before the old one flys off. Phew. I can go fast again.

That's how it felt originally, smooth power til 7 thou then boom..
before the slipping clutch saga that I now have to endure until it get sorted.
Gunna get the old man to have a tinker with it (the clutch that is not me)
Hopefully its just the adjustment that it requires and not something major... Or expensive (sad face)
Keep you updated.

The clutch is slipping and just needs adjusting...

Oh and when I refer to seals.. I mean navy seals.

Hi all,
Got a fazer 600 "99".
Seals went on it but got it sorted today. On my travels to the shop this morning, all is fine except seals (obviously).
Upon receiving the bike back and setting off home, I have noticed that at around 5-6-7 thousand revs as I pull the throttle, it's like the clutch dips until it hits say 7 thousand and shoots off like a bastard, and I'm struggling to hold on.
The bike has only done 4200 miles. I have done just over 200 on it.
Originally the power seemed smooth all the way through but now is very noticeably different. It feels more like a 2 stroke now. Am I hitting a power band or is there something wrong? Has the engine finally been broken in? Any ideas guys?
Many thanks
Jim

For Sale & Wanted / Wanted: fender extender for 99 fzs600
« on: 13 May 2015, 06:22:10 am »
Hi,
I'm after a fender extender plus bolts, preferably silver but would go to black or carbon fibre.
Much less than twenty quid as I can pick one up on eBay for 19.99 plus fee p+p.
I would much rather line the pockets of one of yous rather than a company.
Many thanks
Jimmy

I've just got a 99 with 3949 miles on it (to be precise) haha
For £2140 from a dealer. Few rust spots on it  here and there but nowt major and the exhaust needs a paint.
The carb rubber inlets are cracked but apart from that decent!
I was worried about paying the price but it seems about right I reckon,
Enjoy mate and stay safe.

I'll admit, I did hear that red makes you go faster, but i also heard its the colour that has the most accidents aswell, I'll stick with super slow silver for now haha
Tax disc will be gone too, ill rip it off and sling it in the bushes as I'm doing a steady 25mph in a 30.
Off to bed. Knackered. Cheers for the replies all

Cheers for the reply sinto.
Still trying to figure out all the forum basics,
but I Have managed to stick a pic of my bike up on my profile.
I've bought the bike last week and it's still at the shop at the moe.
The dealer had it up for £2500, when I went to view it I was expecting showroom condition for the price and the mileage but it wasn't. :-(

However I did manage to agree a price for £2140. Which will include a full service, service on the brakes and new pads. Mot. New battery and the passing light fixed. Full months warranty And a full tank of fuel. Happy days.

There is a bit of surface rust on the front of the frame around the exhaust manifold. And the carb inlet rubbers are cracked all way round. But a spray test was carried out and it is fine. I will silicone it all up for now till I get some. The fork dust caps are crazed and there's a bit of pitting on the fork stanchions.

Gunna do a few little touch ups, ie spray exhaust and touch up engine block to bring it up to scratch.
But it's all completely original.

What do you think about the price? Is it fair? Tried my best to keep it as low as poss.

Crikey I've given you my life story. Sorry mush :-/

Btw I'm a southern fairy from Southampton

Hi all,
Just purchased a fazer 600 "99" plate. Just under 4000 miles on the clock in good nick.
So naturally getting myself in the club as I am hoping to have this beaut for a while and need all the sound advise I can muster.
If and when I encounter problems (hopefully not) I will do as much research I can by myself so not to bother anyone but if I get stuck. Please help.
Looking forward to the banter
Jimmy
