Can somebody remind me what size tap and what size Allen bolts I need to remove the AIS from above the exhaust pipes at the front of the engine.
Thanks

M8 tap & socket-cap bolts use a non tapered tap with plenty of lube
Follow Pat's guide here (http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/airinductionsystemremoval.html) & you wont go wrong

Thanks. How long do the bolts need to be?

Sorry to contradict but I strongly recommend an HSS tapered tap to cut the thread in the stubs. You need to cut the thread to about 1cm depth only, so a tapered tap will give you all you need and more with much less chance of snagging while you're cutting the thread. :)

Thanks Mike

Sorry about that I meant to say tapered (brain fade) :lol
I used 8mm stainless ones from Ebay cost a couple of quid
-
Brain fade? Yup, get that all the time :D

Ive just bought five from eBay for 99p!!! Prices must becoming down ha ha
-
Do I need an M8 x 1.0, 1.25 or 1.5 tap?
-
Iirc 1.25 is standard M8 pitch, but it doesn't matter really as long as you get the right pitch bolts to match :)

Thanks.
