How many of you foccers have removed the AIS?? Have you had any issues with the engine once removed? :smokin
-
Yes and no :)
-
Yes and no :lol
-
As above
Mickey
-
No gain and no pain
-
Another yes n no. :D
-
Yes and no.
It just pumps air into the downpipes when you close the throttle in order to burn off any partially combusted fuel, it's an emissions thing. So it has no effect on the engine whatsoever.
-
Take it off, extra weight and harder to get to the spark plugs, no difference in performance whatsoever just a few more dead badgers rolling out of the hedgerows behind you from the emissions.
Badgers are bastards anyway and taste better with a bit more hydrocarbon content, foc em! It's good to annoy brian may the fuzzy haired git.

AIS gone...never to be replaced.. :D
-
another Yes and No

Apologies... just spotted S G Motorsport

I used the Holeshot kit, had to order it from the states (www.holeshot.com (http://www.holeshot.com)) because I didn't get on with tapping out the ports as per Ivan's kit.
-
You need a good quality tapered tap and cutting oil , I used a small adjustable spanner to hold the tap .
-
just ordered a holeshot kit myself. Dont fancy trying to get in beside the frame with a tap. the caps look like a slightly neater solution to me :rolleyes :o

As a heads-up you'll need to get some of this stuff as it's not included with the kit but is required as per the fitting instructions - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Copper-Temperature-Silicone-Gasket-Sensor/dp/B00I20AKGO/ (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Copper-Temperature-Silicone-Gasket-Sensor/dp/B00I20AKGO/)

cheers buddy, I did think some sort of sealant would be required... Ill just "borrow" some form work ;) :lol
-
i got rid of the AIS system about three years ago,I used the holeshot kit from the states. It cost about 45 quid.Very easy to fit.I think someone on this site was selling the caps, not sure though. What i do know is after fitting, it makes changing the plugs easier. :)
-
Another yes and no, I also used the Holeshot kit.

I used a brake adjuster spanner as that was easier to get into the tighter spaces, and it was a perfect fit, but it will depend on the supplier of the tap.
