Ive decided it will be much cheaper in the long run to sell my cosmetically challenged Gen 1 Fazer 1000 cheap, and buy a better one.

I keep looking at bikes to replace my trusty old girl, but I just keep coming back to the fact that I cant think of a better or more suitable bike for me than a Gen 1 Fazer 1000, I'm not even that keen on a Gen 2, they look a bit too modern for me.

Now I know these come up for sale on here occasionally coz I've seen em, I want a Gen 1 Fazer 1000 with and R6 or quality shock, fully Ivanised with all the air injection gubbins removed with less than 40K miles on it.

I know this may be asking a lot, but the last thing I need is to go away on holiday next week only to return and find one has been put up for sale and sold.

So, if you are thinking of selling your modded Fazer 1000 (even if its going to be in a week/month/few months time) please get in touch with me before you throw it on ebay etc.

I have been putting off posting this because I was more than a little angry and thought it may just turn into a tirade salad with extra swearing on the side.
During this Storm Doris thing, my bike was outside on its centre stand with my car and my Father in Laws car on either side.
Well, my FIL had to get his car off the drive so he moved my car, moved his own, then didn't put my car back on the drive into the position where it would be sheltering the Fazer from the worst of the gusts. You can see where this is going cant you. He went back into the house and was happily watching Cash in the Attic,. or some other crappy daytime show and he heard a crunch from outside. When he got up and looked through the window, my Fazer 1000 was on the floor and leaking petrol. He went out and picked it up then phoned the wife and reported no real damage, the crash bungs did their job. Not completely they didn't, they didn't save my top fairing.
It will fibreglass back up, and once sprayed it will look crap and fibre glassed, instead of crap and broken. The bike is still where he left it, on its side stand with a lump of wood bracing it against a wall, on a virtual Naughty Step.
I will take some photos of it tomorrow so you can see the full disappointing effect, I haven't even been able to bring myself to photo it yet. It also tore a big hole in the infill panel and broke off the lugs, I'm fuc**ng gutted. Ah well, almost made it to the end without swearing too badly. 

Has anyone got a good EXUP cover plate they want to sell? I need the plate which bolts to the collector box and has one of the bearings for the EXUP valve shaft in it, not the shiny tin plate cover which "protects" it from corrosion, yeah right, course it does.

Anyone?

I have a standard front set up at the moment and have found that my master cylinder has got a bit "notchy" with quite a lot of travel before biting. So I am going to replace it.
Is there an upgraded master cylinder I could use from a different bike which would work? Like the kind of thing we do with the R6 shock? I'm thinking a radial master cylinder from a bike which uses the blue spot callipers.

Ok, its not a Fazer, its one of my other bikes. I have two cruisers, so this ones gotta go and i'll keep the 8 Ball.

My Father in Law has caught bike fever again (its lucky I didn't give all his gear away like he told me to). He has sat on a Fazer 600 available from a local small dealer close to him in Northwich and he really liked it. The bike in question is a 2003 foxeye and has done 65,000 miles but has got an almost complete service history. He says its very clean with wavy discs and only a couple of small scratches. Im going to put a wanted ad in the For Sale/Wanted section on here anyway, just to see whats about, but he will want a looked after near standard box/foxeye with about 30 - 40 K miles for around £1200, yes, I know, he doesn't want much does he!!

Following a recent trip to Europe on my newly aquired Fazer 1000, I've found it to be very satisfactory in all departments apart from the seat on long journeys, can anyone recommend anywhere which will custom make me a seat so it's as comfortable as possible? I'm getting old and decrepit nowadays and need the comfort, thanks.

I need to build up my EXUP valve. I have the actual valve its self and the small bush which goes on the non pulley end along with the chromed outer cover which covers the pulley.

I need the plate which actually holds the valve and all of the bushings/springs/washers/pulley, and the bracket which holds the two EXUP cables.

If you have any of the above items and are willing to sell them please let me know.

There was such a lot of bikes made by Yamaha that used the EXUP system, will any of the cables from other EXUP equipped bikes fit the Gen 1 Fazer?

As it says in the title, has anyone got a pair they are willing to part with? I'm trying to get all of the parts I need to get my Fazer back into working order in double quick time so its ready for the Europe trip im off on in early July.

Offered for sale is my 2002 Black FZS 1000 Fazer. It has done 26K miles and has lots of history including a dyno sheet stating 131 RWHP, part service history up to 12K, lots of MOT's (to prove mileage) and receipts for work done. This bike would be described as a bit Tatty in my opinion, but the brakes, engine, and suspension all work like they should on a 2002 bike. It has a hugger, belly pan, heated grips, adjustable footpegs, Pyramid flip screen, race can and crash mushrooms. The tyres and C+S have plenty of life in them and it has 10 months MOT (no tax, on SORN).

Bad points EXUP valve seized so showing 7K fault on Tacho, but servo still operating. There is a split in the seat which has been covered with tape. A few light scratches as you would expect for a bike of this age.

The bike rides well despite of the above faults and still gently lofts the front wheel when getting a move on from the lights, the good thing about the EXUP valve being seized is that it doesnt just keep lofting!!

I'm selling this bike because I just havent got the time to do the work required. So i'm going to buy another probably much newer Fazer.

It will have the rear indicators fitted in the next couple of days, the originals were attached to the Givi luggage system which has been removed.
