Can we leave politics out of this, this is about someones son dying in tragic circumstances and his parents finding  a way to deal with that. She has now been charged by the CPS and if she is not willing to come back, she should be tried in her absence, a guilty verdict means if she ever returns to this country she will be arrested to serve her sentence. My heart goes out to Harrys family I lost my eldest son when he was 7, 35years ago and it's still very very raw.

Bought a Kwak Z750 as a winter hack rode it few times, it's stripped and being rebuilt spent a lot more on the bike than I paid for it,  and no it's no longer to be my winter hack when it's finished

Tried adjustable variopegs on my 2008 gen2 they went in the SCRAP BIN after a couple of weeks couldn't get on with them. Bought a genuine yam comfort seat (Ebay) better riding position, but little more comfort (Still as hard as an oak plank) so I think thicker seat is the way to go.

Welcome  I have an 08 FZ1 as has been said take your time be careful ands stay away from the wrong side of 8/9000 revs till your used to it, Instant ban speed  comes up in the blink of an eye and they do bite but treat it with respect and it's a great bike to ride. Enjoy have fun but keep the rubber side down. This forum is a mine of information and help.

If you want to up grade the seat don't waste your money on a genuine Yam comfort seat they are only slightly more comfortable but not worth the price I bought one so I speak from experience. Your back side will still be numb long before you need to stop for you're second tank of fuel. Butt ache or not it's still a great bike.

I've got a 2008 FZ1S First thing to say is tank range is not the best ring it's neck and I've had mine to30/34mpg which means your looking for fuel at about 90 miles, and as said earlier the lump of oak Yamaha pass for a seat is uncomfortable to say the very least so the tank range is a perfect match for the seat  :eek . Round towns mine easily copes with slow moving traffic never noticed any lack of lowdown torque. When ridden hard that 2004 R1 lump comes alive, on real roads it will hang on to most sports bikes (it's a licence looser). It's a compromise between a sports bike and a naked and I would say a decent one at that. Had mine 4 years now, not had any problems with it just service it every year, I'm 64 and it still brings a smile to this old f*rts :o face every time I ride it. :)

As usual young male biker,  middle aged female why are we surprised at the treatment of him and his family.

The least she should do is say sorry to his parents . Why have Northamptonshire police not sent an officer over to the states, to get a statement off her. It at least might give his poor parents some closure. When the police are happy to keep sending officers to Portugal costing the country and the police millions on what now must now be a very cold case. Could it be because they are doctors that move in the right circles?

If it's going to be a problem usually shows between 25kand 30k just check that it doesn't jump out of second gear if it does walk away. The same problem affected was on fzr600 as well.  I had a FZR600R Fox eye got it at about 15k done 35k when I swapped it never had any problem. A Thunder cat followed the FZR 10k when bought  40K+ when sold no problems, but they did have a reputation for it.

1200 Sportster was an agriculture tractor the comment the Harley dealer said "it's away of life" was made after I said "it don't go, it won't stop, and won't go round f***ing corners" and I was trying to be polite. Only test rode one because I thought at 60 I was old enough for one I'm never going to be that old.

Yes it is, it's got the motif on the front it seems thicker and the padding feels better quality and more supportive. What I can't work out why they didn't fit this seat a standard other than blatant money making greed.

Fitted FZ1 with a genuine Yam comfort seat I scored on fleebay it doesn't look much different to the original oak plank they come with. Time and a  decent long ride will tell.
