not to sure whats going on here but im eating batterys one a year every year , or at least thats what it feels like
 meter test readings are
ingniton turn off batter read 12- 12.20 volts

mate said about my headlights causing issues i have the phillps lights fitted

took the fuse out as mine are wired on dip perminantly  13.40-13.60 volts
could this be my regulator dying ? or some thing else

What wattage bulbs have you fitted? Why have you altered the wiring on dipped beam? If you pull the fuse to the lights and the voltage reading goes up that would suggest the bulbs are the problem.

Try to get a voltage reading while holding the revs at 3000rpm or higher, let us know what sort of figures you are getting.

Hi Mark :)

Have you checked/changed the white reg/rec connector under the tank?  If your charging voltage is down, it's a prime suspect.

 reading are now
ignition off 12.40 - 12.60 volts  same with ignition on , engine running no lights 13.40 t 13.60 volts and the same 13.40 to 13.60 volts with the light fuse back in and lights on !
so I am guessing those are ruffly right ?

All the old GS Suzukis used to show 14.5v with the engine running and lights on. Anything above was regulator issues and anything below was rectifier related. I've always done my diagnostics based on those numbers. Do you have access to a manual with the info in it?
